  • Small dog-friendly site surrounded by the Lincolnshire countryside
  • A 20-minute drive to Cleethorpes’ beach, boating lake and country park
  • Barbecues and firepits welcome; five minutes’ drive to shops and pubs
Looking for some downtime in pretty Lincolnshire? Noah’s Retreat will soon have you building barbecues or dabbling in watersports on the Lincolnshire coast 20 minutes’ drive away. The small, friendly Laceby site is 15 minutes’ drive from Grimsby and 20 minutes from Cleethorpes and welcomes dogs and families. There’s plenty of countryside around Noah’s Retreat for walking your little furry companions, and they’re sure to be well pleased with the leftovers you wind up with after your barbecues. The keen golfers among you might want to get out on the golf course next door. Come nightfall, rustle up a firepit if you’d like (or get yourself any early night for the next day’s adventures). If you’d like something tasty to much on around the pit, there are shops in Waltham five minutes’ drive away. And if you’d like to let someone else sort out your dinner for you, there’s also a bunch of takeaways, pubs and restaurants within five minutes’ drive of Noah’s Retreat. There are handy public transport links in the towns too.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Big pitches local walks, cleethorpes is a short car journey away. The shower was good also.

Disliked The facilities were okay, but there were no labeled drinking water taps (that i saw) and the men's toilets had seen better days.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked We were a bit sceptical about booking this site because of some of the reviews saying it was noisy and people felt intimated by people that lived on the site, but it was a last minute booking for bank holiday weekend and there wasn't a lot of choice left so we went for it and we are so pleased we did. It was a lovely quiet site 20 minutes from Cleethorpes which we love, and it was very family and dog friendly, relaxed and restful. There aren't loads of showers & toilets but enough for everyone there on a busy bank holiday weekend and clean enough. We had a lovely weekend and will definitely be back.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Easy booking, shown to our pitch and not hassled, flat pitches, close to shops and 7 miles from cleethorpes, overall could be a lovely site

Disliked Pitches quite close to other campers, toilets and showers functional but could do with an update and a good bleach & hose down, water tap in the middle of resident campers a bit awkward & uncomfortable at times, some loud drunk people (over the BH weekend) playing music loud, shattered the tranquility of everything,

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Flat tidy pitches with parking, friendly staff, ability to have a fire, great location, the walk around the lake. Peaceful, even on a bank holiday weekend.
Having seen some harsh reviews we were pleasantly surprised, we've definitely stayed in worse. It's not filthy at all, we all even managed decent showers too, the staff did well to keep on top of cleanliness. Its really not that bad!

Disliked If being picky a tap nearer the campers pitch would've been handy, another sink plug in the washing up area so 2 could use it at once.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Good location. Nice owner. Good sized pitch but also wasn’t full so could be why. Can’t complain though.
Was worried electric wouldn’t reach but luckily our cable was long enough! Our friends had to use an extension though - really depends on your cable length and where you’re pitched up.

Disliked Toilets and showers could do with an update. Seems they’re building a new reception but probably be better to upgrade those instead. On our final morning the hot water ran out too! Luckily we were done by then but many people weren’t.
Some scruffy looking caravans on the site. Seemed inhabited but on the pitches?

Local attractions

Get your coastal fix in Cleethorpes (20 minutes’ drive). The beach rents out single or double kayaks and paddleboards for those wanting to get out on the water and there’s a boating lake if you’d rather keep your paddles to a pedalo. Cleethorpes Country Park (20 minutes) is another popular spot, for cycles especially. Perhaps you’d like to inject a bit of history or education into your trip. One easy way to do this is by taking a ride on one of the UK’s oldest coastal miniature railways, the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway (20 minutes). Another is with a visit to Grimsby’s (15 minutes) minster and fishing heritage centre. Then, there’s the museum of rural life at the six-sail Waltham Windmill (five minutes) too. Lemurs, chameleons and meerkats, anyone? Kids can learn how to feed the zoo animals from the keepers at Jungle Zoo (20 minutes), a small family-run zoo.
