A quiet, peaceful, and relaxing site with spacious pitches and friendly hosts. Facilities are basic but clean, though some reviews noted minor issues. Good base for exploring, with a small shop. Some gate code and signage feedback noted. Management is addressing concerns.

Larkrise 1 bedroom cottage / chalet / bungalow
Liked Cottage on good location. Owners welcoming.
Disliked Could do with some cleaning in parts. No enclosed garden for dog. Needs overall updating.

From the manager: It is quite clear from the information that the cottage does not come with its own garden. We make it clear to guests they can use the huge camping field adjacent as long as dogs are on leads. The cottage was thoroughly cleaned prior to the guests arrival and since this is a holiday cottage not a hotel we do not provide a daily maid service. The cottage has an en suite bathroom, electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer purchased in 2026, together with a wood burning stove for winter. There is Free sat TV. No Wi-Fi is available due to poor local internet but no Wi-Fi is advertised as being available.

Liked Lovely site, nice area and great views.
Disliked The facilities were described as basic but that doesn’t include them being dirty.
The toilet block needed cleaning properly and was not cleaned during the 3 nights we were there, they were poorly maintained.

From the manager: The toilets and showers are in the side of a brick barn and are regularly maintained. They are basic and this is made clear on site information. Our manager confirms that they had a thorough clean before the Bank Holiday. The only people on site over that weekend were Neil H and his extended family who booked 3 pitches. Our manager reports that the facilities were not as she left them after this family's arrival. Cleaning materials are there eg mop and bucket in case people have a mishap. Most of our guests are respectful enough of facilities to pick up eg rubbish if they drop it or have a wipe round if their family has made good use of the toilets and showers. This is not a five star hotel where cleaners can attend every few hours.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Great location and a nice secure site. Friendly and helpful people with a lovely little shop.
Disliked After reading other reviews where the toilets are described as basic this was not the case. The toilets were unclean and were not cleaned while we were there. Just some bleach in the toilets would have been better. A shame as it spoils a nice site.

Larkrise 1 bedroom cottage / chalet / bungalow
Liked It was a really lovely quiet roll location with very friendly hosts.
Disliked The front door was a real challenge to open and close. Therefore for anyone that has accessibility requirements this may be difficult

From the manager: We are so pleased the stay was enjoyed.
No one else has had a problem with the front door. Its a big old fashioned wooden door which locks with a key.
Really enjoyed out three days camping here was peaceful and fun

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Great location for peace and quiet. Owners are welcoming and show you the pitch, introductions. Manager (Stacey) is very knowledgeable of the area, welcoming and goes out her way to make sure everything is in order.
Working farm, so great for the children. Rooster is a natural alarm clock. Farm shop on site has great fresh sausages and the necessities. Cash only.
Plenty of space for the children to play ball, run around. Electric is available. Pitches are more than big enough.
Disliked Toilet roll in the toilet was limited. Not a problem as had my own. Dated showering facilities, but it's a small site.

Basic site with amenities available in a lovely location.

Liked Open field, relaxing atmosphere, friendly host. Definitely a lovely no frills campsite, right up our street. Certainly different pace of life to be woken in the early morning by cockrels!
Disliked Nothing.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We were met by the owner who was very pleasant and helpful.
The site itself was very good. Fairly flat, nicely kept grass, remote & peaceful during the day with plenty of space for the grandkids to run about and play. There is a 3-3.30 am wake up call from the cockerels but it is a working farm and to be expected so no complaints from me! They do eventually go quiet again giving you time to nod off again.
The kids from the farm came and played with the kids in our group, which was good to see. Logan is quiet but adorable!
Disliked There is slight road noise heard from the A15 at night if like me you’re a light sleeper.
The toilets/showers could do with a little more attention only by the fact that they aren’t cleaned regularly enough.
