What customers say
A lovely, quiet campsite in a beautiful country setting, perfect for exploring the Forest of Dean. Guests rave about the clean washrooms, welcoming hosts, and roomy spots. Showers take £1 tokens, with good water pressure and heat. Some sites are sloped, so bring levelling blocks. Spotty cell service and Wi-Fi. Fire pits available to rent.

Liked Loads of space great chilled atmosphere and amazing hot showers and clean facilities
Was only meant to stay one night as a stop over but ended up staying two nights. The husband and wife owners were fantastic.

Nice location but limited facilities
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Nice location.
Accessible taps across the field.
Mostly quiet during our stay so toilet/ shower block didn’t get too crowded at one time.
Disliked The use of shower tokens- due to weather conditions (of course outside of their control) it was really challenging to get over to reception within the operating hours to get any shower tokens meaning we were missing out on using the showers/ use of facilities available.
The reception operating hours were very limited, especially since you have to get tokens for the showers. If you have to get tokens then really there should be a more accessible way of getting them.
No sockets at all across the campsite which meant that by the second day, most of our lights for the tent and portal chargers needed charging and had to try and figure out a solution for it which cost us money in the end.

Liked Quiet. Useful water taps and picnic tables
Disliked Toilet block -Seemed very limited for the number of people Only 2 washbasins so when crowded it was difficult to use them - crammed in close together. Would have liked a few shower tokens to be included in price .

Clean, well kept, quiet. Just be aware of the slope
Primitive grass campsite
Liked It’s a nice field and the check in process is good, bring some cash to get shower tokens!
The team running it seem nice too. Decent space in the field generally, quiet and away from major roads, not far from cool stuff in Forest of Dean area.
Has 3 toilets, 2 showers, and they are kept very clean. Also a good recycling area, field is cut and trimmed nicely, generally very well kept. It’s a bare basics campsite but it’s well arranged and thought out.
Disliked Because the field is a on a slope, there’s only really space for around 15 pitches, and that depends how selfish people around you are. Everyone ends up on the top of the slope and then the rest of the field is empty, if you’re arriving late you may end up pitching on a steep slope.
Toilets and showers and clean and good but there’s only 3 toilets and 2 showers, unisex, so you feel a bit pressured when a queue starts in the evening. I think they really need like 2 more of each in the summer at least.
Might just be timing but there was a slightly bad smell around the toilet area when we visited. The block is all clean, but maybe some of the pipe work needed attention…

Looking forward to visiting again
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Beautiful setting and wonderfully peaceful - all that could be heard was buzzards circling over the trees below. Proper campsite, well-maintained, full of friendly people, with everything you could need and nothing you wouldn't want. Took the dogs on a couple of great walks - especially Clanna Woods. Can recommend the Rising Sun down the road (very warm welcome) plus the Globe at Alvington (excellent garden).

Pleasant site with decent facilities
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Small, well organised site with spacious loo and shower facilities which were kept very clean during our stay.
Disliked Loos and shower facilities are unisex. We didn't have a problem with this but some people may not like it.
