What customers say
Spectacular country views and a serene vibe. Spotless washrooms and helpful staff are highlights. Level, roomy pitches impress. Note: playground/pub are farther than expected, and toilet queues can form. One guest found sheep droppings an issue in April '25.

From the manager: Hi, think you must have reviewed the wrong site as we don’t have showers here and the toilets are always kept very clean and well stocked up…
Lovely campsite, great hosts — unlucky with a noisy neighbour
Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked A really lovely, well-kept campsite in a great Peak District setting. We arrived on Friday afternoon when it was very quiet, and although it became much busier on Saturday, the site itself remained clean and well looked after.
The facilities are simple but perfectly adequate, with two clean portaloo-style toilets, a large washing-up sink and an additional water point.
A special mention has to go to the owners, who were incredibly helpful. Our young children had been sitting in the front of the car keeping warm while we cooked and tidied up, and managed to press enough buttons to flatten the battery overnight! A quick call to the farm and the owner came down with jump leads and helped us get the car going again. Very much appreciated.
We’d happily stay again. One tip from our visit: the farm end of the field seemed noticeably quieter at night than the end where we pitched, although that may simply have been luck.
Disliked The site was much busier on Saturday night and unfortunately we had some fairly noisy neighbours nearby, with noise continuing well beyond the 10pm quiet time. Nothing that would put us off returning though, and obviously not something the campsite itself can easily control.
Camping etiquette doesn’t always seem to come naturally to everyone!

Liked Beautiful area, really helpful owner that we spoke to when the satnav had led us the wrong way. Great price on hiring a fire pit. Very clean toilets. Would stay again. Travelled as a family of 5 2 adults, 2 older children and a 4 year old and a dog.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Lovely views, the field was flat and a good location for walks or venturing into Buxton. The toilets and washing up facilities were really clean and well stocked up with toilet paper, kitchen roll and even sponges and washing up liquid.
Disliked Would benefit from more toilets.
I think the site may have been a little overbooked, people arriving later in the day were having to squeeze in between other pitches where there was very little space. It wouldn’t put us off returning though.

Really nice campsite overall, great for a stopover
Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Really clean toilets, lovely owner, very relaxed, great view.
Disliked Didn’t realise it would be so close to the road, the road was quiet so not a major issue. The field was quite small, lovely when we got there as we were on our own but as people started to arrive it really filled up and we ended up with people right next to us on either side.
