Would happily visit again if in the area.

Aug 2026

Liked Spacious defined pitches with water tap on each, nice quiet environment despite it being a working farm. Close location to end of M5 so quick to get to, some road noise, but nothing that disturbed us and we are light sleepers. Whilst (as others have said) the toilets are a little dated, they are kept clean and are well set out with plenty of space in a purpose built building and much better than some sites portacabin arrangements, so don’t be put off by those comments. Good value for money and close to several lovely villages and good pubs. Whilst we didn’t pre-book for an awning, this was not a problem and we just paid the extra to the owners during the stay. Spacious unisex showers next to indoor washing up sink, two other washing up sinks outside which proved very helpful when you have dogs.

Peaceful, well set out spacious site.…

Aug 2026

Liked Peaceful, well set out spacious site. Owners very friendly and welcoming, was good to have the pizza van on Friday night to save some cooking and washing up. Washing up facilities plentiful (4 sinks) and undercover next the laundry room which has a washing machine and tumble dryer. Access to the site was quick and easy from the main road and the small shop on site useful if you needed to pick up some bits and pieces. Meadow for dog walking was massive and a great space to explore. We stayed on a hardstanding pitch which had plenty of space to pitch an awning and still have room to sit outside on the grass. Recycling bags were provided so you could store up your dry recycling before taking to the bins which was very helpful.

Disliked Just a personal thing (not a reflection on the site) which took a bit of getting used to for us (probably more of an age thing) was the inclusive toilets and showers, but can see this is a great help for young families on holiday.

Great location and facilities on a quiet site

Aug 2021

Liked Great location to access the Yorkshire dales and the Lake District, easy access to many attractions and many more on our to do list for next time. Was nice to have a small shop (within reception) on site for essentials especially as a camper van. Electric extension was needed but provided by reception with a smile so no issues whatsoever, if you have any problems I get the feeling the team will go out of their way to help. We were parked by the engine shed (were advised on booking) and were a little apprehensive about the potential for noise but no issues at all, the street food van is a fantastic idea, but get your orders in early just to make sure you don’t miss out. Very nice to have a variety of foods across the week. Facilities were immaculately maintained and the toilets were very clean and lovely hot showers with always on taps (not the press and hope type), dishwashing water was also as hot as you could get it which is great for greasy breakfast dishes. Lots of wild rabbits on site at 5am on an early morning toilet dash which was lovely to see. Spectacular scenery within a couple of minutes drive, some of the B roads were amazing!! Loved our mid-week stay and looking forward to coming back next time.

A+++ site in fantastic location

Aug 2021

Liked Easy to find on the main road just west of Pickering. Check in was contactless and simple, just read the board, ring the number and follow the map to the pitch. Electric points are close to pitches so no massive extensions needed and water tap was on the field also. Really peaceful site in a great setting, we would definitely come here again. Toilets and showers were immaculate and plenty of sanitiser to hand. Washing up area and laundry close by in the same block. Had a wild rabbit outside the camper first morning which was a lovely reminder of how close to nature we were. Lots of attractions within a short drive, Pickering is a lovely town to slowly explore.

Great value for money

July 2021

Liked Peaceful working farm site, slightly more of a slope than the pictures suggest but no so much as to cause a problem and gorgeous views from the top of the field. Plenty of space and no allocated pitches - park where you like. Showers (free) and toilets kept clean and well stocked. Good washing up point and water supply. Exceptional value for money and a great location with lots of attractions nearby. Friendly hosts. Would definitely stay again.

Disliked Grass was maybe a little too long on the field so shoes and bottom of trousers could get soaked early on a dewy morning, so bring some wellies, crocs or garden shoes.

Secluded quirky gem of a site

July 2015

Liked What's not to like about this site, perfect friendly welcome with information about local area and attractions, beautiful setting, but close to local town which had all the usual amenities and shops. Yes there is only one toilet and shower each for men and women, but the site was quite full and we only had to wait once and it was nice to socialise with the other residents who were washing their dishes whilst waiting. After speaking to Linda, the lack of facilities is partly due to strict planning restrictions, but they are planning to introduce more facilities for next season. The whole site is full of character and we will definitely be returning, it was a testament to the site that although the weather was pretty shitty for our stay that we are determined to make a return visit as soon as possible! Loved the ping pong table in the barn, such a laugh watching the family trying to play!

Disliked Nothing! I did think of marking the site as a 9 because of the weather, but as with the busses this is nothing to do with the site, so would never dream of being so petty!

Perfect Camping Site

Aug 2014

Liked Location and pricing of this campsite is spot on, coupled with very friendly and helpful owners makes this a great place to stay. We stayed on the bottom tent field and had lovely views over the sea for the sunset each evening. The camper’s kitchen is a great idea - microwave and toaster available for use if you need a quick snack or don't fancy battling the rain or wind on a blustery day with your camping stove. There was plenty of information available on the site about local attractions and a book where people could write their own reviews of attractions/pubs/restaurants etc. that they had visited. In the kitchen/dishwashing areas there are also 2 freezers [for freezer packs only] which are free to use. There are 2 shower blocks, a new one by reception and a "back to basics" camping one in the top field - personally I preferred the back to basics :-) no problems with paying 50p for a 4min shower as the site price is so reasonable and it stops people hogging the showers for ages in the morning. There is a large area to give the dogs a run/exercise which is a fenced off part of another field, this was most welcome and helped keep the energy levels of our springer spaniel under control. Ideal location - personal recommendations would be to visit Mwnt (warning - narrow lanes) [no dogs on beach] and Aberporth [2 beaches 1 which you can take dogs on] which are both close to the site and idyllic settings for a day / evening. If you go to Newquay you have to try the chips from the lime crab - which perfectly met the description of "proper chips" as described by the site owners. Hoping that the September weather picks up, as promised as we will be back :-)

Disliked Having to leave :-(

Value for money.

Aug 2014

Liked Stayed for six nights and enjoyed. Flat pitches with plenty of room. Very friendly owners. Toilets and showers kept clean and well stocked with soap and toilet paper. Shop on site that opens on the weekends only, but if you want anything during office hours you only need to ask. Calor and camping gas sold on site.

Disliked Initially I was a little put off with many signs around the camp saying that we needed to take our recycling home and only to leave general kitchen waste, due to the cost incurred by the site to remove rubbish. However, after witnessing several campers abusing this request and leaving soiled mattresses, broken air beds and chairs and what looked like a microwave in the rubbish bins, I can fully appreciate the owners making such a request. It's a shame that people can be so inconsiderate especially when you consider the cost of the site per night, making Mill House an affordable family break. There is no lighting on the camp field at night, but considering the cost I'm not grumbling. However, being the baby I am a sensor light at the ladies would have been appreciated, especially when stepping out of toilets into darkness. Small gripe!

Pleasing stay, excellent value for money, very friendly

Aug 2014

Liked Friendliness of owners, close proximity (walk) to well stocked garage shop (with chilled wines and beers :-)). Good location for visiting St David's, Solva, Tenby, Pembroke and many other places. New toilet blocks now finished and nice and clean. Small site, excellent value for money. Son loved piped music (local radio) in toilets.

Disliked Nothing.
