Sitting between the seaside towns of Aberaeron and New Quay, Moody Meadows is a family-run site 10 minutes’ drive from spectacular Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion. And not only is it family-run, it’s also very family-friendly, with a whole host of facilities to make life easy on site. These include a farm shop for topping up on supplies, a licensed bistro for those days when you can’t be bothered to spark up the barbecue and a play barn to keep kids safely occupied. The level, tree-lined pitches are all fully serviced with a lawned area for sitting out. Thoughtful additions in the shower block (it has disabled facilities) include hair dryers and a laundrette, and should you be bringing dogs with you, there’s also a dedicated dog wash area for cleaning muddy paws. With easy access off the A487, this quiet site is a convenient base for exploring Ceredigion, its beaches, historic sites and wildlife – watch out for red kites inland and dolphins in Cardigan Bay. A footpath leads from the site to the village of Llwyncelyn (10 minutes’ stroll), and a short walk from there takes you onto the scenic Wales Coast Path… You won’t need a car to explore the area, but a good pair of walking boots is essential.

Pitches are roomy, fully serviced and spick and span. Toilets and showers are always spotless and top-notch. The on-site eatery and farm shop get rave reviews for their grub and goods. Hot tub pitches are a popular treat. Staff are often called friendly, helpful and easygoing. The spot's well-placed with decent transport. Minor niggles? Liked Cleanliness, staff were courteous, helpful and very professional.
Had everything that you need for camping including a well kept hot tub. All the amenities were cleaned and available throughout our stay. Overall such a great experience.

Disliked Nothing. Could do with more poo bag bins for dogs, surprised there wasn't one by the dog walking field. Please put one there 🙏

Liked Stunning surroundings; having our own hot tub on our pitch was the perfect addition, which over looked the lake. Facilities were very clean and well maintained. Friendly and welcoming staff. Cannot fault our visit!

Liked Great location, very well organised and very clean. Booking in process was easy and the correspondence was very appreciated.
Great facilities. Great restaurant and bar.
Lovely having a hot tub and reassurance that the team do come round twice a day to check chemical levels and water levels.

Disliked It was clear from looking around the site on all the pitches with hot tubs that everyone wanted a bit of privacy and were positioning vehicles to give them that. This meant that the pitch was not able to be used to its full potential. Awnings tents had to go on hard standing and despite the hot tubs being emptied away from the grass. The grass soon became water logged and therefore couldnt be used for anything.
Not sure what could be done with this but great facilities. 8am wake up call with the hot tub man checks is maybe a little early

Take forays along the Wales Coast Path (direct access from the site), or pack a picnic and march the family down to sand-and-shingle Cei Bach Beach (50 minutes’ stroll/10 minutes’ drive) to see if you can spot dolphins playing in the waves. If the kids catch the wildlife bug, take them to see the birds of prey and butterfly house at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (55 minutes’ drive), where they can also encounter giant animal sculptures on lakeside walks. Learn more about the history of this corner of Ceredigion with a visit to the National Wool Museum (25 minutes), housed in a historic mill packed with original spinning looms; there are entertaining craft workshops for families. Fans of the combustion engine can see 19th-century machines in motion at The Internal Fire Museum of Power (20 minutes), giving an insight into the development of steam power. Staying with the heritage theme, tour the handsome John Nash-designed villa and lakeside gardens at National Trust - Llanerchaeron (10 minutes). If your offspring need an antidote to all that history, the crescent-shaped sandy beach at New Quay (10 minutes’ drive) has rock pools for crabbing and is backed by ice cream stalls and cafés.
