Liked Nice big pitches, with clear markings.
Very friendly owners, couldn’t help you enough.
Very close to coffee shops, shops, pubs etc.
Lovely quiet site.
Great little stop-off for a couple of nights on our way to Cornwall.
Disliked Not a dislike but a bit confusing, how there was a urinal next to the kettle/washing-up area and the second washing-up sink was in the same cubicle as the toilet.
Only 2 toilets (there was also 2 portaloos) but meant at busy times you could be waiting to use the facilities.

Liked Lovely quiet campsite close enough to amenities to walk and lovely clean toilets. Owners were friendly and very helpful.
Kids enjoyed it!
We will definitely return as it was perfect for a little one night getaway :)
Disliked Although we had a spare pitch to one side of us, if that hadn’t have been there the pitches are very close together and so could limit space. (You also feel VERY close to your neighbours as we had a loud snorer in the tent next to our van and they kept all 5 of our party awake through the night including 2 young children).

Beach is stunning
Disliked - This site is an 'Away Resort' (think Haven, Butlins etc) which isn't made completely clear when booking - would have avoided if I knew it was a resort.
- The beach is a 1km walk away from the touring pitches, and access to the beach is via a very steep sand dune. NOT ACCESSIBLE to anyone with mobility issues. We have a disabled daughter and so it was very dangerous for us to attempt the descent.
- Touring pitches very close to clubhouse and it is VERY loud of an evening.
- Very loud site in general, groups up shouting, drinking and smoking (not just tobacco) until after 1am both nights.
- Very unkept pitches, rubbish and cigarette ends everywhere.
- Pitches are 'choose your own' so spend a lot of time driving around trying to work out where you can go. We also had someone pitch up a HUGE tent in the space next to us that was not a pitch, meaning our children couldn't go outside the van to play.
- Shop closes at 4pm every day, so if you do need bread/milk, make sure you run out before tea time!
- STILL no idea where the water tap is.
- Tourers are not really important to the company 'this is where you need to drive, and this is all you need to know' is what I was told at reception, no clue on where toilet facilities, washing-up facilities etc, just left to own devices.
- Site is not clearly signposted so end up wandering around a lot.

Liked Beautiful quiet site (this could be a negative for some if they have children, but ours loved listening to the birds) Riverside on site so the kids could go and throw stones.
Clean facilities, even a kettle with coffee and tea.
Disliked Not a lot of space between pitches, or room for the kids to run around.

From the manager: Thank you for your visitI fail to understand your comment about pitch space as you were 6 metres from adjacent tent and there was nothing for at least 15 metres on the other side. Yes we are a quiet site and bird song fills the air, which is why we do not have a playground or play area, we want people to enjoy the countryside which your young children appreciated. There are plenty of sites out there that accommodate those other family needs, we choose to be quiet.

Liked Open pitches - loads of room. Gorgeous views. Peaceful site. Allowed campfires which made it even better on the evening. Lots of wildlife. Clean facilities.
Lovely, welcoming, friendly hosts.
Disliked The toilets were quiet a walk away, it’s absolutely fine, just a bit difficult with young children.

Disliked Near a country road where people can drive quite fast - although this is nothing on the owners!!

Liked Nice flat pitches.
Located on site of The Thames Head Inn which was lovely for food.
Quiet site as only very small.
Disliked Although the site was quiet, it’s on a fast road with a railway line next to it and both are loud.
Pitches very close to each other, you felt like people were watching you.
Only ONE toilet and shower for whole site - which was in the same room - and was located at the back of the pub, a 2min walk from the site.
Toilet was dirty every time we used it.
The pub didn’t supply high chairs - we have a 3yr old and she had to sit on an adult dining chair which was not suitable and quite dangerous.

Liked Lovely facilities - they look like they’re going to just be portaloos/showers from the outside but they’re really nice. Showers are HOT which is a welcome surprise after a day at the beach.
The hot drinks machine from the dairy farm was a lovely little addition, the hot chocolate was gorgeous!
Nice, flat and OK sized pitches for the campervan with a nice view of the sunset/sunrise. OK for one night but I wouldn’t have liked to stay for any longer in a pitch that size as you felt a bit ‘boxed’ in and there was people immediately to your left, right and behind you and then the road was in front of you.
Disliked For the kids to play they had to go to a separate field far away at the other side of the campsite. Having a nearly 2 year old with additional needs who doesn’t walk and a 4 year old this just wasn’t possible and meant that the children weren’t really able to play outside a lot.

From the manager: Many thanks for the kind review and so pleased that you liked the facilities, hot chocolate and pitches. We do take special requests if there is a preferred area of the campsite that may be a little bit quieter and not so crowded. We do have a children's play park for the smaller children as the play field adjacent to the campsite is usually for the older children to pay ballgames or small children accompanied by their parents. There is a large grass area at the back of and between each pitch, where small children are able to play. We hope that you will change your mind and visit us again.

Liked It felt really rural in the middle of the forest as you were surrounded by trees and forests, even though you had just come off a main road to come into it.
Facilities were immaculate when you used them, no matter what time of day.
The fire pits to hire were a lovely little addition, our eldest (4) loved collecting fire wood (sticks from the forest floor) for the fire. It really added to the fun of the forest stay for her.
Pub about 10mins walk away was really lovely for dinner and a drink.
Disliked Our pitch was in between 2 static caravans, whereas all other pitches were alone or next to one other pitch and then trees etc. Although it didn’t spoil it for us, it seemed as if our row of pitches had just been ‘plonked’ there between the caravans.

Liked Chris was brilliant and so helpful when we first arrived. It was VERY windy so he offered us another pitch, but we were happy enough where we were.
They had a family wet room with a baby bath/seat and a changing table - I’ve rarely seen this in a camping site - we have a young child with additional needs so this was amazing to have over our 2 night stay as really helped our little girl.
All facilities were immaculate all of the time.
A sweet van came round one of the nights we were staying which we thought was a lovely little touch!
Disliked For the kids to play they had to go to a separate field far away at the other side of the campsite. Having a nearly 2 year old who doesn’t walk and a 4 year old this just wasn’t possible and meant that the children weren’t really able to play outside a lot.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review! Just a note on the dislike. We are sorry to hear of your issues with pitching. We try and consider customers needs when no special requirement is given at time of booking. You were allocated a pitch that wasn't too far from the amenities (approx 50 metres) and only a short distance from the play area approximately 50 metres. As Dan offered a change of pitch on arrival due to the wind, he would of been happy to allocate you a closer pitch to the play area had you of requested. As already said, we can only try and get pitching right when requests aren't made. We are very grateful that you would still return and would be more than happy to allocate a more suitable pitch for you in the future.

Liked We had an issue with our electric hook-up cable and as we have a young child who has additional needs and is fed via a feeding pump it was a necessity that we got it sorted as quickly as possible. The team were amazing at helping us and nothing was too much hassle even early in the morning! Thank you 😊
So much space for the kids to play, all of the added extras for them to burn their energy off and have loads of fun.
We’ve already been looking for our next weekend away here.

Liked Facilities were clean for whole stay. Lovely little cafe/bar/restaurant on-site. We only used it for coffee, cakes and a beer to take to the tent but a fab selection and it was always busy.
Great open space for kids to run around.
Disliked Not a huge space for tents, luckily we only had people to one side of us but had it have been fully booked I really don’t know how everyone would have fitted tents/cars/space to sit in.
Saturday night was extremely loud due to a large party of people celebrating. This went on to the early hours, they did turn their music off by 10pm but as the group was so big it was just still a lot of noise after the time. But it didn’t spoil our weekend away at all!

Liked Gorgeous views, quiet location, lovely pond with little fish that you could feed which our daughter loved, playing area in the middle for children, clean facilities, two owners were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us!
Disliked Sloped pitch areas, this was an issue for us have young children/baby as they were rolling in the bed. Not too much of an issue we could get on with it but we did have a few instances with drinks sliding off tables and spilling in the tents.
Although the facilities were perfectly clean there was only 3 toilets/showers and the site was full so there was a few times we had to queue for the toilet whilst people showered which was not great with a toddler (this wouldn’t be an issue any other time I don’t think hit it was a busy half term/bank holiday).
We were also pitched under the electric cables and a few times ourselves/tent/table were caught by the birds that liked to sit above on the cables and sing (although I’m sure that’s classed as good luck anyway haha).

Liked The huge pitch sites, plenty of room for us, abs then the children had room to play. Toilet blocks were always clean. Gorgeous area, wish we had a bit more time to explore but had a few hiccups with set-up (first time camping) so we’re to able to get out and about, but will be back.
Disliked Large group a few pitches down playing loud music until around 9pm which we could hear down the other side of the field, they then got into quite a heated argument the whole group which they did over the music. These things happen and it can’t be helped, hasn’t put us off but this would be our only negative.
