Excellent facilities, heated shower rooms, very modern and clean. Very good waste, elsan, fresh water area with two portaloos, again heated and very clean We were on hardstanding pitch due to ground being boggy but grass pitches are very large and have high hedge dividers. Security is very good with double barrier. The George caters very well for diners and has a good range of beers.

For the size of The George it would be nice to have a designated bar area with comfy seating as the choice was sit at bar or at dining tables. Also best to ask for pitch near to Shower block if on hardstanding, we were originally put on hardstanding surrounded by very boggy grass at bottom end of site and it was difficult to manoevre car and van without getting stuck and pitches were very close together.

A lovely place to stay with a river next to you and it’s so peaceful, the staff in the pub came out to open the height barrier to let us in. The showers and toilets were especially clean and well looked after. The pub is dog friendly and you are very welcomed by all, food was very good and I would definitely recommend a stay here.

The toilet/shower block entrance is right next to the river, no fence next to the river so in the dark can be quite dangerous.

The pub stop over was really good, helpful and friendly, we went into the pub for meal and the meals were very good and the hubby had homemade tomato soup and bread for starters and he loved it. The gravel pitch we had was at the very end of the site, however it was lights going up through, security for the motorhomes is really good with a height barrier that the staff from the pub opens for you. The showers and toilets are very clean and looked after,

The only issue for me was using the toilet block, it’s right next to the river and not fence off so it could be a bit dangerous. I’m unsteady on my feet also would be really scared if childen used the toilet block and ran ahead as children do.

The site was generally a pleasant one. We were in pitch number 1. The bathrooms are a short walk througha gateway and alongside a small brook passed the childrens playground. These were access via a card system which a deposit is required. The facilities were very good. divided into rooms each with a wash basin, toilet, shower & heated towle rail so no complaints. The George was also very good. All the staff were great and Elise was very helpful. The team serving and cooking were all happy and the food was excellent, we would recommend a visit to the George.

The toilets did not appear to be cleaned at all during our visit, although a mop and bucket is supplied form customers to clean, unfortunately not everyone does. The site rubbish bins (apart from one) were full and overflowing and there is no drain for waste water unless you have a hose or a wheeled waste water tank. Someone else on our pitch when we returned after going out which again meant Elise had to come and sort things out (as said earlier Elise was very good) and couple who had taken our pitch were mover to a pitch that already had an old caravan on it, not great for those customers, you pay for your pitch not to share with an old caravan. TV and internet reception poor.
The worst think was the height barrier. To access or leave the site meant going into the The George and someone had to come out and open the barrier. The lower barrier could be operated via the bathroom card so if you were in a car you could bet in and out. It's an obvious inconveninece for the bar staff and an inconvenience for visitors. We were originally told that access and exit would only be between 8am & 12 noon on Boxing Day. That would have meant being imprisoned for the day. Fortunately Elise did manage to arrange something but we felt quite awkward and an inconveinience in asking. This could easily be sorted out if the access card opened both barriers, it would save customers having to go to the pub and arranging access and exit. Having read some other reviews that raise some issues the general response appears to be "I'm glad you enjoyed your stay" this doesn't address any of the issues raised which means that nothing changes. It could be so much easier for all if the hieght barrier was opened early and closed late or if the access cards could operate both barriers. It would save the inconvenience for customers and bar staff too.

The pitches were quite narrow which wasn't a problem when we stayed (December) but I imagine it would be very difficult to manoeuvre a caravan when it is busier.

The pitch we were in was right next to the pathway leading toilets and showers. People can literally see right into your window. The hard standing area really isn’t very nice looking, it has the feel of a car park. The first few pitches including the one we were on are very close to the pub playground and even though only a few kids were playing there the time we stayed the noise was quite intrusive. I imagine in summer with its proximity to the pub playground and beer garden it would get very very noisy. The pitches don’t see, that big either tbh. There is nothing too wrong with the site I guess . The staff seemed friendly enough.

Small Site but with above average sized secluded pitches.Very clean and well serviced showers and toilets. Ideal for walks along the canal and river Cam,also bus stop nearby for trips into Dursley,Gloucester and Bristol. The George Public House on the entrance to the site is warm and welcoming with food and drinks all reasonably priced.
