Live military vehicle displays, Living History encampments and expert lectures characterise TANKFEST. This one-of-a-kind celebration of moving armour is held at the Tank Museum in Dorset, so you can browse the permanent exhibitions – from replicas of WWII trenches to Cold War curios – while here.
With so much to see, it’s worth setting aside the full three days and staying at one of the campsites near TANKFEST. Kids will appreciate the trails, quizzes and interactive games, so why not bring them along too? You can pitch up in leafy woodland clearings, within manicured walled gardens or at wildlife havens, sometimes with access to indoor and outdoor play areas.
Glamping is also a possibility – there are boutique bell tents and chic shepherd’s huts to book, all within driving distance of the Jurassic Coast.
