  • Peaceful eco site with firepits and a footpath to the beach
  • A 40-minute drive from Oakwood, Heatherton and Folly Farm
  • Within half an hour of surf beaches, horse riding and zorbing
Here’s a heavenly harbour for your holidays... Mill Haven Place is an eco-friendly site on the Pembrokeshire coast, with views across to the wild island of Skomer, and a path to a gently winding, 20-minute trail down to a secluded beach with rockpools. (Does anyone need more than that? If they do, it’s all nearby, from top surf spots and theme parks to boat cruises and birdwatching.) Haven is the right word for this spacious green spot, where the maritime vistas of the daytime are matched only by the starry canopy that rolls out after dark. With firepits provided and wood sold on site, there’s no excuse for not gathering round the flames, grilling your suppers and staying up way past bedtime... The clean and well maintained amenities include hot showers, flushing and compost toilets and a separate family shower room, along with access to a shared fridge and freezer. When you’re ready to comb beaches further afield, you needn’t journey too far: it’s 10 minutes’ drive to Broad Haven beach and half an hour to the surf mecca of Newgale.

Unpowered grass and earth tent or campervan site

Liked Relaxed site near the coast path. Clean shower and toilets

Disliked Having to weigh up the risk of hot water running out

From the manager: We are sorry the hot water was not working properly during your stay.
We have solar heated showers to try and keep our site as green as possible, adding back up systems would involve using gas and this would be expensive as well as not very eco friendly
We have since doubled our tank capacity so there is now 600l of water heated at a time

Excellent site location, very quiet and friendly hosts.

Unpowered grass and earth tent or campervan site

Liked What an amazing little find! Spent our first night here on our backpacking trip around the coastal path - we all wished we'd stayed longer! Very easy to find following our map off the coastal path. Toilets and showers were lovely and kept clean and there is a barn available to wash up and keep food in fridges. The campsite was lovely and quiet and the hosts were very friendly and informative.
We're bitter we couldn't have stayed for more nights!

Local attractions

If you’d prefer to take in Pembrokeshire at a more stately pace, pack a picnic and go horse trekking from Nolton stables (20 minutes) or join the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from the site, for clifftop walks both short and epic. Sometimes though, you just want to roll down a hill inside a massive transparent ball, and when that need arises, zorbing experts Downhill Revolution are also in Nolton, and waiting to give you a push. Also 20 minutes away, Martin’s Haven is the departure point for boat trips to and around the islands of Skomer and Skokholm, spotting grey seals and puffins, gannets and whales. Other options include a wander among the wallabies and a tiptoe through the tigers on walking safaris at Manor House Wildlife Park (40 minutes); a similar distance away, the trio of Oakwood Theme Park, Heatherton World of Activities and Folly Farm draw families in with a cracking combination of thrill rides, adventure sports, cute furry creatures and a funfair. If the weather's ever playing up, the Blue Lagoon Waterpark is also 40 minutes away, with slides and flumes, falls and wave machines, all at subtropical temperatures with a roof on top.
