What customers say

Clean, friendly, top spot with stunning sea/mountain views. Easy walk to beach & train. Good-sized pitches, great staff. Bar, cafe, shop are a hit. Some found toilets/showers limited at busy times, coin showers a tad annoying. Highly recommended for location, vibe & value.

Liked Quiet (apart from the train, but you get used to this), small site. Great views of the sea. Really friendly staff and great coffee shop and restaurant on site.

Liked We loved the views and how quick you get to the sea, you can hear the sea when lying in bed at night which is just beautiful and a laid back atmosphere. There is a train station 5 minute walk away to access several other seaside towns. The train runs along the back of the site and is usually every 2 hours from 7.30am to 10.30pm, so doesn’t disturb sleeping.

Disliked Last train is at 10.30pm and it would be good to know that a staff member would do a site walk to make sure that all music is turned off, so that the site is quiet after the noise of the last train.

Towing vehicles - if coming in from Fairbourne side then you will either need to go very wide almost back on yourself or face getting stuck! We turned into the site from Fairbourne side but then had to reverse out and try and find somewhere to turn round as more accessible from Tywyn side. However difficult to find somewhere to turn around, we ended up being naughty and turning round in another holiday parks entrance.
There was an email sent with this info however was read too late so we didn’t know.

Liked This was our 3rd time visiting, we love the location and the Cafe/Bar/restaurant. The new Tapas menu was amazing. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Disliked It was a really good atmosphere on site during the peak season, however, we felt that 3 toilets and 2 showers for the whole site was inadequate for the large number of guests. It's fine for quieter seasons but not through the summer.

Liked This was our second time staying at Hendre Hall. We chose to come back because the location is just so beautiful, and it is so close to other brilliant places to see and things to do. We love that you can walk to a lovely beach from the site, we love the views of the sea across the bay to the Llyn Peninsula, we love the on site cafe and bar/ restaurant. The staff are so lovely and helpful, really helping us with our pitch request. The village of Llwyngwril is also beautiful.

Disliked The only criticism we’d make is about the toilets and showers. The campsite was very full and we didn’t feel there were enough to deal with the number of people. One of the showers in the block closest to the cafe didn’t work and the other was flooded on the floor. Everything else is spot on at the site, and we’d love to return next year, but the loo and shower situation as it stands currently would make us think twice. I think a newer and/or bigger shower block would really make this site super special.

Scenery spectacular and easy access to the beach.
Site well looked after by friendly owners and staff.
Children had freedom to play and move about and loved seeing the donkeys and goats.
Bar very good didn't dine ourselves but food looked amazing.
Local store 5 minutes walk and train station if you want to venture out.
Would definitely stay here again.

Peninsula camping pod

Liked Fabulous views - great little site with amazing scenery
Loved the donkeys
Farm shop super
Staff lovely
Sauna and views from inside fabulous treat

Disliked Not enough toilets at busy times (was bank hold weekend to be fair) and could have been cleaned more - no toilet roll for half a day in the ladies
Disappointed with restaurant- would have been great to have cooked breakfast rather than croissants and choc au pain. I guess most people cook their own though

Local attractions

When you set down here, ready your swimming gear, as Bala Lake (40 minutes’ drive) is a fine setting for sailing, wild swimming and canoeing or hiking the hills on all sides. The kit will come in handy for exploring the Barmouth (30 minutes) seafront by paddleboard, too, or windsurfing and kitesurfing in Aberdyfi (20 minutes). If more active pursuits are what you like your holidays chock-full with, Dolgellau (20 minutes) is a good point of departure for hikes, mountain biking or climbing crags. More beach paddles, perhaps, in Tywyn (15 minutes), followed by a traditional butter bun? Perhaps your preferred way of taking in views is from a cosy seat on an old steam train, such as the Fairbourne Railway (five minutes). It’s one of several historical places you might want to seek out – others include the Dyffryn Ardudwy burial chamber (40 minutes) and the Italian-style Portmeirion (50 minutes) village. Plas Brondanw Gardens (50 minutes) was designed by the same architect that created Portmeirion.
