  • Dog-walking area and underfloor-heated modern bathrooms on site
Looking for a peaceful park in Scotland? There’s more than a wee chance you’ll have a top time at Foresterseat Caravan Park less than 10 minutes’ drive from Forfar in the Five Glens of Angus… this site’s a scenic place for sitting with a beer at the end of the day while looking out across a wild setting. With an extended burnside dog-walking area at the park and Murton’s nature reserve across the road (about a five-minute wander away) for lakeside lopes and birdwatching – or tasting traditional cream teas at the café – it’s also a sweet spot for strolling. The park connects with Chester’s Path leading into Forfar too, meaning the hour-long circular trot to town goes through lush countryside via the nearby golf course. In the other direction, you can pass lochs like Rescobie and Balgavie on your way to the walled Pitmuies Gardens with their alpine meadows and marked paths or reroute yourself north west to Angus (20 minutes) for bistros and pubs serving traditional Scottish food as well as international fare. You can get grub here or head back towards the site for eats at the restaurant and bar next door. Other facilities at this well-kept, purpose-built park include a modern shower, toilet and washroom block with underfloor heating to keep toes toasty on cooler Scottish mornings and evenings.

What customers say

Top-notch adult-only campsite! Praised for spotless facilities, chill vibes & helpful staff (shout out to Linda!). Great location for walks, spacious pitches. Restaurant next door's a bonus. Minor notes: bit overgrown dog path, tents have a separate entry. Highly recommended!

Powered grass site

Liked Very welcoming , we spent 2 nights camping over the weekend , we were offered a hard standing pitch but thought this would be uncomfortable as have the tent , it was nice to be offered to have a choice but we happily took one of the grass pitches which are just down the hill from the caravan park , it does give you the feel of wild camping but its a good feeling and you feel safe , we had the pitch with electric hookup with a bonus drinking water tap which was very handy . A short walk to the toilet/shower block . This site is very peaceful , spotlessly clean , lovely views and a great location . It is off a main road but dont let this put you off as you dont hear the traffic during the night , you just hear the birds singing . We will be back ❤️

Unpowered concrete slab motorhome site

Liked Lovely location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Very good toilet and shower block - plenty of room in the shower cubicles. We didn’t need EHU: £20 a night is very good value.

Disliked Nothing to dislike!

Liked Nice site, clean and friendly fab welcome by Linda.
Restaurant next door had great food.
Seen a few deer on walk around site.

Disliked Grass path was over grown just off the site to walk dog. Site probably does not own this ground but if there groundsman could chop down the grass on path. Would be perfect wee walk for the dogs.

Local attractions

When it comes to culture, Scotland’s got it in spades. For a trip with a historical bent make your way to Glamis Castle (20 minutes’ drive from the park) for a guided tour of a thousand-year-old building that was the childhood home of the Queen Mother or drop by Arbroath Abbey (20 minutes) – another swish old structure to visit – to see the Declaration of Arbroath, arguably the most well-known document in Scottish history. Go south to Dundee (30 minutes’ drive) for the 15th-century Broughty Castle Museum on the Tay estuary, a place of top views and geography exhibits, or investigate the nation’s modern heritage at The McManus Dundee's Art Gallery & Museum’s gothic revival building. Once you’ve nodded your head thoughtfully at all the 19th-to-20th-century pieces here, stop by the Verdant Works to learn about the former jute production industry in this part of the world. Worn out just hearing about all these educational expeditions? You can always get some fresh air in the countryside at The Glens just outside of the city instead…
