What customers say
Great organised campsite with heaps of clean showers & toilets. Staff are legends, always friendly & helpful. Perfect spot to walk to Cheddar village. Lively, family-friendly vibe with food & entertainment, but can get a bit busy/noisy. Some found pitches close & facilities needed a spruce up, though they sorted it out.

Liked Food services on site were good. Shower was hot and powerful.
Disliked Unfortunately, our experience of this campsite was not a positive one.
We are a young-ish couple and asked to be put in the 'quiet couple field'. However, this field was not quiet. Families were settled in here, the main path to Cheddar ran at the edge of it, vehicle traffic was passing through and there was an industrial estate opposite, where an engineering company was working loudly until 11pm and then there was a delivery at 3am with lorries unloading, metal shutters opening and people talking. Then at 6am it was like business as usual. And this was a Saturday into a Sunday so not what you would expect.
Queues for toilets and showers were dirty.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, Kelly. We're very sorry to hear that your stay didn't meet your expectations.
We do have families who request quieter pitches, and we would normally place them in a different area of our six-acre Quieter field and would usually provide more guidance on where to pitch. In particular, we would usually advise against pitching close to our entrance track, as the neighbouring business occasionally has to respond to emergency call-outs, which can result in vehicle movements at unsociable hours. We clearly fell short in communicating this, and we apologise.
Regarding the toilet and shower facilities, they were being cleaned throughout the day, with cleaning taking place for up to 16 hours daily. However, after the first overnight rain we'd had in weeks, the dead grass across the site was inevitably carried into the facilities by foot traffic. While this explains the condition you experienced, we appreciate that it doesn't change your impression, and we're sorry they weren't at the standard you expected.
We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve both our communication with guests and the experience we provide. We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity in the future.

From the manager: Heather
Good to talk to you just now, and apologise for the pitching issue you experienced. I've now spoken to the team member and re-explained the importance of spacing and also ensuring the the quieter field is separated into a section for parents with small children and one for adults with no children.
Our offer of a return visit on us stands, and we look forward to welcoming you back
Warm regards

Unpowered grass site
