A relaxed and friendly campsite in an excellent location
Powered concrete and grass caravan site
Liked We liked the warm welcome, the relaxed atmosphere and the overall standard of the facilities. Our hard standing pitch, with electric hook up was peaceful and the site is very dog friendly. A brief stroll into Cheddar, and a lovely 7 mile loop walk across the Mendips and through the plain. We highly recommend the pizza evening at the Cheddar Ales brewery just a 5 min walk away.
Disliked The coffee from the machine in the shop.

Liked Stayed in a large grassy pitch with hook up in my campervan with the dogs. Hook up and topping up credit was hassle free. The site was well located and it was a quick and easy walk into the village. Everything within the site was well sign posted and explained. Some really cool vehicles that look possible to book to stay! Staff were all very helpful and friendly!

Lovely well-maintained site in a peaceful spot, great for families
Powered grass site
Liked Toilets and showers were very clean and well-maintained. Peaceful spot with lovely views. Friendly and helpful staff. The shop (and coffee machine!) were very handy. Our daughter (8) loved the informal play areas. Easy short walk into Cheddar. Cheddar Ales is a few minutes' walk away and serves delicious ales and ciders, with a really good pizza truck on Friday and Saturday.
Disliked We weren't always sure when the shop was going to be open

Overall it’s ok, but could definitely be improved
Powered grass site
Liked Location is great, even ground , well spaced pitches, wood fires available
Disliked Showers and loos , only a few in use, not very clean, electric pitches have very limited power unless you pay extra, you then have to go to reception to arrange this, a time consuming and complicated procedure ( the last thing you want on holiday)

From the manager: Jane
Thank you for your review - glad you enjoyed most of your stay, and sorry we dropped the ball on the cleaning front - we had a cleaning rota mix up - as you can see from the other reviews, we pride ourselves on our high cleaning standards, so we can but apologise and promise we'll get it right next time.
The power provision is explained in advance of your stay, but we agree that the manual nature of the process is an annoyance - so much so that we have just spent £20,000 on new self-service meters that are being installed during April :)
As ever, we encourage you to raise any concerns with us whilst you're here, as we would have pounced on the cleaning within minutes and explained about our plans to upgrade our metering system.....
We hope to welcome you back to clean facilities and simple power management along with breakfast on us by way of making amends :)
