What customers say
Chilled, no-frills farm stay with ripper views. Owners are legends, plenty of room on pitches. Basic but clean loos and hot showers. Great spot for coastal exploring, pubs/shops nearby. Toilets could use more light, some pitches a bit lumpy.

Disliked Toilet block is old chicken house , no flooring no paint just remnants of chickens living in there , how hard would a bit of Lino and a lick of paint be to advertise a toilet block , shower is reminiscent of similar attitude , corrugated steel sheets to hide worst of privacy assured it was hot though

From the manager: Dear Mel,
It was lovely to see you, thank you for staying.
The washing up station works fine, however the roof blew off in the last storm, it's on the list but being farmers we are a bit busy, constantly. All being well it will have a roof for the next season.
Best wishes, Hazel

A lovely peaceful stay

Liked Loved staying at Higher Easton Farm Campsite! So peaceful, and in a location that really lives up to it's title Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Facilities are basic but really clean and it feels like 'proper' camping. We had loads of room, other campers were very respectful. Lots of beautiful walks nearby. Even had swallows nesting in the toilet block!

Great spot for a basic, relaxing stay.
Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked A great location on the back of a working farm with flat or very gently sloping pitches. It's very peaceful (no loud music after 8pm), even with quite a few other campers there at the same time and the views are fantastic. We had a couple of very clear nights as well, which were perfect for star gazing due to very low light polution.
We were pointed in the direction of everything we needed when we drove in, and after that we just did a little loop to pick our spot. The text on the morning of arrival with the final directions to reach the site was very useful, as satnav will get you close but not all the way to the spot.
Facilities are basic, but clean and well maintained. The semi-outdoor showers were hot, clean, and a really nice refreshing, rustic morning experience. Dont be put off by these, they're still very private despite being open. The place has everything you need, but if you are after glamping style accommodation this one probably isn't for you (but suited us just fine)!
We packed our own water, but didn’t notice any drinking water taps (there likely is some, we just didn’t notice any) so bring a decent amount with you.
The location couldn’t be better for a short 2-3 night stay really. There is a handy local shop (200m walk down the lane, right at the gate) that stocks everything you need for a decent camp including local farm produce ideal for a BBQ, and pub across the road from that which does the job if you want a bar beer. If you fancy some outstanding seafood, the Oyster Shack is walkable distance away (around 800m down the road, left out the gate) and is a fantastic experience. Bigbury beach is probably walkable, if you feel like a longer wander. We didn’t try it this time, but it certainly looks doable so we'll try it on our next stay.
We will be coming back here, for sure.

From the manager: It was lovely having you stay and thank you for your spot on review of our campsite and the two closest places to eat. I had a camper try the Fisherman's Rest which is a couple of miles away, they enjoyed it there as well.
See you soon,
Hazel
