Top-notch campsite, super clean with friendly staff. Immaculately kept toilets/showers. Peaceful spot, close to Hele Bay & Ilfracombe (but watch out for the uphill walk back!). Good sized, private pitches. WiFi can be a bit spotty, and the access road's a tad narrow.

Liked The site was in a lovely peaceful setting and was kept very clean and tidy. The pitches were large and level. The toilet block was spotlessly clean.

Disliked There were codes on the doors of the toilet and shower block which we have never seen before. If you were desperate to go a toilet and forgot to take the code you could have a problem. They could do with having some shelves in the showers to put shower gel etc etc.

Liked This is a very special site. Unbelievably tranquil, excellent facilities, super clean and very welcoming. Little touches like doggy poo bags and bins everywhere and a doggy showers plus a great park for the kids and wetsuit washing station. Great location, walkable to the beach. Really friendly people. Honestly could not recommend this site highly enough. We will be back

Liked We booked for the bank holiday in our little motorhome “Merlot”. This was a beautiful site in a short walking distance from Hele beach. The site is very well kept and all facilities were extremely clean and with very big showers as you had individual toilets and sinks in each cubicle.
The site is separated with well kept hedges which promotes to your privacy. The pitch was a fully serviced pitch with every thing needed.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and even printed us a bus timetable.
I would highly recommend this site and we will be returning Thank you

Local attractions

Setting off to see your surroundings is easy – the South West Coast Path can be accessed from Ilfracombe to climb up to Hillsborough and pass Hele Bay and Watermouth to Combe Martin. But do take quite some time in Ilfracombe first to browse around its shops, galleries, gardens and museum, then have a boat or fishing trip out from its handsome harbour… Travelling slightly further afield, Watermouth Castle (five minutes’ drive) is an odd but utterly fab mix of Victorian treasures, modern rides, maze and gnomes in their very own land, while Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park (15 minutes) has a whole menagerie of animals and animatronic dinosaurs around its 25 acres. And do try The Big Sheep (40 minutes) for sheep racing, horse whispering and a massive indoor play area. For other days out, spot exotic animals at Exmoor Zoo (25 minutes) or make your way to The Milky Way Adventure Park (50 minutes) to try Devon’s tallest rollercoaster, watch swooping birds of prey demonstrations, feed baby goats or slide around the huge indoor play centre.
