What customers say
This large, tidy campsite boasts spacious sites and spotless facilities. Staff are a hit for being friendly and helpful, with plenty for families: pool, playgrounds, food. Some noted occasional noise, pricey extras and a few dated bits. Great spot for exploring North Devon.

Overall, a great park with huge potential to be excellent.
Powered grass tent or trailer tent site
Liked I want to be completely fair reviewing this place as I feel it only fair to both the park, and to families who are looking to stay.
We camp often, and I think the park overall is brilliant, but would welcome a little love is places.
We understand the lady who takes calls and welcomes guests was on her own in the lead up to our stay, but she was extremely friendly when we arrived and is doing an amazing job. I tried calling many times to enquire as to whether we could get adjoining pitches for us and friends but no answer. However, when we arrived they had read the notes left with Park Holidays (phone diverts through when no answer at Stowford) and organised this so we couldn’t be happier. With the phones, the lady needs support - the site is very large, and many guests are regularly in reception, so clearly not her fault at all. She was lovely.
The things we liked:
Flat pitch (for us)
Cost - very reasonable for the stay
Excellent showers (good pressure/heat)
Clean toilet block
New menu
All meals we had at the pub were great
Size of shower/toilet blocks - never had to wait
Friendly and accommodating staff
Entertainment
Site map has excellent detail
Dog park and sport field
Overall, the site is really good. I heard some guests discussing frustrations which I personally disagree with… things like the phone not getting answered, which as stated is likely if you are on your own through no fault of your own. I understand the frustration, but this needs to be directed at the operators - not reception. Others mentioned the toilet blocks aren’t cleaned regularly enough - again, I disagree in that I always found them as clean as a reasonable person would expect - you can’t have a toilet/shower attendant in there 24/7 cleaning every blade of grass from the floor etc. and they provided a floor blade to use post shower which I think all should use out of courtesy.
Disliked I don’t like the word disliked - we didn’t ‘dislike’ anything - however, there are some elements to the site that I feel Park Holidays as a chain could very simply rectify, and feel they should consider if they wished to make it a truly excellent offering:
1) Look at ways to support the existing staff to ensure service is provided to its highest potential
2) A deep clean of the toilet blocks more often - purely because the extractor fan had a lot of dust stuck to the wood around it which was falling off and onto the sinks
3) Arcades need attention - we went twice in 5 days and neither change machines had change, several machines weren’t operating fully, and as a family campsite, this, for children, is (in our opinion) quite important
4) Shop needs attention - stock levels of ‘necessities’ needs to improve and it needs modernisation
5) Look (if possible) to open the Fish & Chip shop everyday - several couples we spoke to mentioned this
None of the above affected our stay - we would definitely stay again - we understand finances don’t grow on trees, but some of the above aren’t ’bank-breakers’, others I feel would benefit the park hugely.

Liked Nothing in the shop. A couple of bottles of alcohol so you spend your money in the over priced bar
Disliked Turned up to find someone on our pitch. Went to reception and the lady said she had no solution for us. She got aggressive and asked everyone to leave as she didn’t get paid enough to resolve the problem. Manager ended putting us up with the residents. Bank holiday Sunday pool closed due to no chlorine.
