  • Rural site with spectacular views, a sauna and gorgeous sunsets
  • Under 30 minutes’ drive from Boscastle, Padstow, Polzeath and Tintagel
  • Walking distance from local pub, café and the Camel Trail cycle route
You won't find bright lights or a noisy clubhouse at Camp De Lank – just peace, quiet and laidback, friendly vibes. This grassy site in Cornwall is all about the simple pleasures of outdoor life: stargazing, barbecuing and reconnecting with nature. Camp De Lank is a peaceful place where family and friends can reconnect, unwind and explore some of Cornwall’s most celebrated spots – the owners are longstanding locals who are very happy to give tips on the best things to do in the local area. Not that you need to stray far for something to do, as the site has a wood-fired sauna, a small play area and board games to borrow. This four-and-a-half-acre site has pitches with sweeping views over the local countryside, making Camp De Lank a spectacular place to be at sunrise and sunset. Handmade Cornish cocktails can be delivered to your tent on a daily basis, so get those orders in ready for a sunset sip. There are also modern and well-maintained toilets and showers, plus nifty extras like ice pack freezing and a battery pack charging service. Camp De Lank is in the small hamlet of Lank, two miles from the edge of Bodmin Moor and half a mile from the start of the popular Camel Trail bike route. Head to the latter to set out along 18 flat, scenic and traffic-free miles, or stick closer to base and pick up drinks and snacks at an off-grid cyclists' café (10 minutes' walk).

What customers say

Lovely rural spot with great views & roomy pitches. Spotless facilities, especially the hot showers. Friendly, helpful owners go the extra mile. Perfect for the Camel Trail. Minor points: slight road noise on one pitch, clearer pitch markers requested.

Bell tent

Liked We stayed in one of the bell tents and it was really comfortable and cosy. The sheltered kitchen was really helpful and meant we barely had to bring anything with us. Nice touches like outdoor games for the kids. The scenery was beautiful! Loads to do in the local area from lovely beaches to the moors and waterfalls

Disliked I had a shower one morning with my toddler when other people were also using the showers and it kept fluctuating between really hot and really cold so it almost burnt her. The toilets and showers weren't cleaned very regularly and it was quite busy the weekend we were there. It was abit awkward to the keep our coolbox cold and I thought we could freeze our own ice packs which you can't. Minor but the sheltered kitchen area could do with an extra wall to keep the sun and wind off, thats where put our coolbox but the sun moved in the day

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Such a great campsite, feel lucky to have found it. Small site with very large pitches. Very clean and adequate facilities. Helpful, friendly and accommodating owners. Reasonable costs, fire pits, logs, power banks, ice packs and games all available. Showers were great to have constant flowing water and temperature control. There’s a sauna too if that’s your thing.

Disliked WHEN I visit again I will avoid if possible the far corner pitch as it sits next to a road junction and noise was high morning and evening. However this is absolutely not a deal breaker, it was the ideal spot for my daughter who appreciated not being surrounded and didn’t care at all about the noise.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Small quiet campsite with owners living on site and readily available to help if needed. Very helpful and kind. Great facilities. Very clean. Hot showers. Lovely views. Great local pubs and useful things near by. Great to be able to have a fire in the evenings.

Disliked Limited fire pits so not enough for all pitches, although owners did find us one when we were desperate after a rough day with our tent failing!! Road noise was loud when we initially pitched up in the far corner as quarry lorries come by from 5.30am, but we moved to a pitch on the other side the 2nd day and couldn't hear the road at all.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site

Liked Lovely rural site. Peaceful (apart from the early morning tractors 🚜🤣). Nice big pitch. Friendly staff. Good showers & toilet facilities.

Disliked Unable to freeze your own ice packs & had to pay to use ones provided; not expensive but would add up over a longer stay with a family.

Local attractions

Feeling thirsty? Get set for very mellow times at Camel Valley Vineyard (15 minutes' drive/an hour by bike via the Camel Trail), where tours, tastings and wine by the glass (or bottle) are available for fans of English red, white and sparkling wine. Not that you'll want to be sampling their wares on an empty stomach – but there are plenty of foodie spots in Wadebridge (20 minutes' drive), Padstow (30 minutes) and Polzeath (30 minutes) to see to that… As well as the Camel Trail, popular biking spots include Cardinham Woods (20 minutes) on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor and Old Hill Bike Park (10 minutes), a family-oriented set of circuits with all-weather trails ranging from green (balance bikes suitable) through to black (experienced riders only). If horseback travel's the thing, you're also just over two miles from Hallagenna Riding, an equestrian centre with activities for all abilities. Handily, Camp De Lank is within an easy half-hour drive of the Eden Project, where huge tropical domes will take you off to all sorts of far-flung habitats.
