Stithians Lake Campsite: Site view

General

  • Pitches overlooking the 275-acre Stithians Lake
  • Fishing, sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding and lots more to try
  • Playground, lakeside trails, bird hide, café and refreshment kiosk

Get along to Stithians Lake Campsite for watersports, scenic waterside views and loads of room all around: pitches at this family-friendly activities site look out over 275-acre Stithians Lake.

The range of activities on offer at Stithians Lake Campsite makes the site excellent for groups: fly fishers can cast from boat or bank for sizeable brown and rainbow trout (Environment Agency rod licences are required for over 12s and you'll need to apply for these beforehand). Visitors can also try out a wide range of watersports with the help of the qualified instructors at the Outdoor Active centre: windsurfing, sailing, rowing, kayaking and water zorbing are all on offer... feel free to bring your own kit or rent it on site.

There’s loads of space around the site for family games and picnics too, as well as a pirate-themed playground, walking trails around the lake and a bird hide for twitchers. Rid yourselves of the rumbles at the on-site café and refreshment kiosk, or have some of the homemade specials on the menu at the Golden Lion pub, 100 yards away.

The shower and toilet facilities are shared with the watersports centre and are a short walk from the pitching area (the facilities can get pretty busy when the watersports centre is open so plan your showers accordingly).

Stithians village is within easy reach of the site to stock up on supplies.

The tent pitches were amazing, all with great space and flat land. You'll either get great view of the lake or the sun hitting you all throughout the day right the way through the late evening.
The site facilities were always clean and very well maintained. Having coded locks for your own personal shower/toilet use is fantastic and it really feels like you get that extra bit of privacy.
The Stithians Resivour lake is incredible as well. The site offers so much for you to do in ways of water sports or if you want to take your own kit it's only a small fee for launching.
The cafe was good with the breakfasts being especially nice.
Great location as well with it being only a 10 min drive to Redruth or 30 mins to Newquay.

Everything. Fantastic, little site based in a beautiful location. Spacious, flat, well spaced pitches. Clean, covid secure facilities. The addition of six wash/toilet/shower rooms are a welcome addition. Excellent, knowledgeable staff. Sun rises over the lake so you can have your morning cuppa watching the sun sparkling on the lake and a variety of bird life. Great photography opportunities. A nature reserve nearby with a bird hide. Had breakfast at Wild Vibes cafe which was very tasty and once again great customer service. Didn’t use the Golden Lion pub this time but have previously, and can also highly recommend their food and the pub surroundings. I parked up and stayed on site for three nights, everything I needed was right there...peace, tranquility and R & R. *****

Online booking, easy check in, map of facilities, clean and tidy campsite, not too crowded (pitches), nice and quiet come evening / bedtime, toilet / showers were kept very clean.

    Disliked:

Pitch bordered the access road which was a little noisy at times, but it was still a fairly long walk to access toilets / showers.
