Beautiful campsite located in a hikers heaven
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked The campsite was so cosy with breath taking views all around us and a hikers/wild swimmers heaven, it was perfect for us, it met all our needs and more. We were welcomed by the lovely owners Chloe and Linden who were so friendly and accommodating. The campsite was very well presented and I’ve never used a portaloo that was so clean and smelled so nice lol! My daughter especially loved the animals and loved how Linden let her interact with the animals who were all super friendly too. There were shops close by with Windermere and Ambleside a short drive away. We will absolutely be staying at this campsite again this summer!
Disliked Pitches are a bit uneven and rocky in places but that cannot be helped - there was plenty of space to find somewhere to pitch.

From the manager: Hi Victoria. Wow thank you for such a lovely, in depth, review. Your daughter was a delight, so helpful and friendly, helping us put away and feed the animals in the evening. I see a future farm hand in the making! Can’t wait to see you both back here.
All the best, Lyndon & Chloe

Liked Super friendly host, clean facilities and stunning surroundings.
Disliked Not loads of flat pitches (fine for small tents but you might struggle with a large one).

A must-visit campsite in the Lake District!
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Frost Hole is a rare gem of a campsite! The views are spectacular, especially the sunsets, and Chloe and Lyndon are superb hosts. The hot shower was divine and the location is perfect for a hike or run up Brunt Knott and into Kentmere, or exploring Staveley and the Lake District. We’ll definitely be back!

Liked We loved this camping spot and will definitely be back! We were looking for somewhere quiet and more wild campy as opposed to some of the bigger campsites around, but still wanted access to a shower and toilet facilities… this campsite was exactly what we were after! Gorgeous views and a quiet and relaxed campsite. The couple running it live onsite and are really friendly and always around to help. They had drinking water onsite, a portaloo that was kept very clean and well stocked and a hot shower facilities too.

Liked My partner and myself absolutely loved the views and the serenity of the farm it was Fantastic! She saw sheep on the road up and was ecstatic to see them and then the bats later at night were also a good little treat to watch in the night.
And the SHOWER! Phenomenal, just what we needed when we got up in the crisp fresh morning.
All in all 10/10.
We very much look forward to staying here again.
