What customers say
A tranquil, rugged campsite with ace views & walks. Friendly owners, clean loos & hot showers get a thumbs up. Teepee hangout & honesty shop are great. Bit steep to get in & can be windy. Boil drinking water. Extra shower coming soon.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Amazing views! Was busy enough for a night atmosphere but not too busy where you couldn’t get moved. Tipi for milkshake and ice cream was a massive bonus.

Great little site with amazing views.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Location, the scenery was beautiful. Great big field with plenty space to chose from.
Disliked Nothing really. However just a note to mention that the showers were a little temperamental, either red hot or freezing cold so you had to time when to dip in and out. Not a complaint but maybe something the owners could look into.

Beautiful location amazing views. Toilet not good for shorter people.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Exceptional View and location. What a spot for farming absolutely stunning and beautiful. (Must be hard in winter up there!) nice big field. Teepee is a nice touch to gather in.
Disliked Toilet was a problem for shorter members of family. Maybe have a couple of steps so not such a big gap from toilet to where you rest your legs?
Allowing a booking to arrive after 10pm who were noisy setting up tent. Discussing about where to put each peg, child had iPad on loud and was chatty like it was daytime. It disturbed all of us.
If you set rules you should stick to them because often people book because of these rules and policies.
The sheep wandered through the campsite. Although charming and idilic it was probably not a clean look for some. Obviously the field is used for animals as sheep pooh was visible all over. Maybe decide to keep the camp site free of livestock? It’s not nice to sit on the grass and put your hand in sheep shit!
The drive from the road needs a bit of repair as not everyone has off road 4x4s. It would be a nice touch to have a smooth road to the site.

From the manager: Welcome to the Dales! Lambs generally have a hard time staying where they should be at this time of year! We don’t ’allow’ them in there, but they don’t listen when we tell them not to jump the dry stone walls and wander in. There’s no such thing as a smooth road in the Yorkshire Dales. Perhaps a campsite on a working farm isn’t for you?

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Location, field well maintained. Quiet venue very respectful neighbours.
Disliked The toilets were not easy to navigate. Boys have an option to use urinals but women have to climb onto a composting toilet. I have a bad knee and this was difficult.

Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Loved it. Amazing place. Facilities were v clean and worked well. Stacy, the campsite owner very friendly. The views are spectacular. The main teepee is full of stuff for fires and even a coffee machine. As a cyclist the ride away in the morning was spectacular. Lovely way hi g the horses on the gallops
Disliked As a cyclist the hill getting up! At 1 point was 25%. Quite windy so a good tent needed
