  • Peaceful Norfolk site on the outskirts of Warham village
  • Five minutes’ drive to Wells-next-the-Sea; Holkham Beach 10 minutes
  • Dog-friendly pitches 20 minutes’ walk from a good local pub
Wondering where to take your next family break? Wonder no more; just book your pitch at North Norfolk’s Grove Farm Campsite, a small, quiet spot on the outskirts of the flint-built village of Warham. Low-key, peaceful and calm, the site is nevertheless handy for strolls to the local pub, dog walks in the Norfolk Coast National Landscape wetlands (10 minutes’ drive), days out on the beach (and harbour tours) at Wells-next-the-Sea (five minutes) and visits to stately homes or ancient forts. There is a bus stop just a short walk away, and the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway is less than five minutes’ walk away from the site. The two pitching fields (the tourer pitches have electric hook-ups, the tent pitches do not) have countryside views and are sheltered by mature trees. On sunny afternoons, red kites are often spotted soaring above the meadows, and in the evening, you may get lucky enough to catch a glimpse of deer grazing in the meadows. There are firepits for hire (and logs for sale) on site. Barbecues are permitted for family meals on site, but if you’re looking to eat out, take a 20-minute stroll (mostly along a road) to the local pub to sample home-cooked pies, classic pub dishes and traditional Sunday roasts. There are also plenty of other eateries within a short drive of the site.

What customers say

Peaceful, well-kept site near Wells. Spacious, private spots are a hit, though early cockerels can be a bit loud. Basic but clean facilities. Fire pits to hire, plus a fun miniature railway. Friendly, helpful owners.

Bantam powered grass caravan site

Liked The location is beautiful, especially the camping field, which looks out over corn. The helpful owners were friendly and the size of pitch is fantastic, they’re all huge. The compostable toilets work really well and are regularly cleaned. Just a short walk ti the Walsngham railway.

Disliked Having our view spoiled by huge waste bins and a dog poo bin. The clean water tap needs a drain below. There’s a Cokerill on site that crows every morning, I was awake from 3.15am one morning, 4.30am the next and 4am on the final day. It crows for a couple of hours. I left sleep deprived, not sure why you’d keep a cockerill with campers? If you’re a very early riser it might not bother you.

From the manager: Thank you for your kind words about the campsite – we’re really pleased you enjoyed the beautiful location, spacious pitches, and clean compost toilets.

The bins are indeed placed near the entrance of the campsite so they can be accessed and emptied efficiently - we understand they’re not the most scenic feature, but they are essential for keeping the site clean and well-managed.

Regarding the cockerel – there are wild chickens and cockerels in the surrounding area, as we’re in a rural setting. Unfortunately, we don’t have control over them, though we understand how their early morning calls can be disruptive to some guests.

We appreciate you highlighting the issue with the tap drainage too – that’s helpful, and we’ll look into a solution.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Bantam powered grass caravan site

Liked not very big and near to Wells North norfolk

Disliked Very difficult to locate with google maps and car satnav got lost several times. Needs large signage at entrance as small track and so easy to miss. Also more signs on the road to help plus sending a print out map to clients before arrival date.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear you had difficulty finding us. We understand how frustrating it can be when technology doesn’t cooperate, especially in rural areas where GPS and satnav systems can occasionally be unreliable.

As part of our welcome process, we do send detailed location information ahead of time, including our address, postcode, contact details and even have a pinned google maps location online. We also remind guests through the booking process, that we are a small, back-to-nature campsite with basic facilities, located just five minutes drive from Wells-next-the-Sea, which often helps with general expectations and orientation.

Thank you again for your feedback—it helps us improve the experience for all our guests.

Warm regards,

Liked Loved the peaceful and very beautiful countryside setting, chickens roaming, shade from the trees. A truly lovely campsite with spacious plots. A light railway travelling from Wells to Walsingham can be flagged down and boarded just 5 mins across the road from the campsite.

Silkie unpowered grass tent site

Liked Peace and quiet was lovely. Lots of space around each pitch - we felt we had all the privacy we wanted.
The benches and tables for each pitch to use were great as we were travelling with a small tent.
The compostable toilet was great and very clean.

Disliked The cockerels waking us at 4am but that’s a sign of the countryside as we know… 😊

Bantam powered grass caravan site

Liked Fantastic small campsite, nice and spaced out from other campers and lovely setting with cool views. The compost toilets were super clean and well stocked with everything, including a handy guide to Norfolk. The free fire pit hire with wood, matches and natural firelights was perfect! You can also wave down the miniature steam train just a stone throw from the campsite and hope on to go to Walsingham or Wells.

Local attractions

Warham Camp (five minutes’ drive) is a large, circular Iron Age fort built by the local Iceni tribe on the River Stiffkey. Archaeological excavations have yielded ancient artefacts including shards of Roman pottery. For somewhat more recent history, head to Binham Priory (10 minutes), the ruins of an 11th-century Benedictine monastery. Deer roam the parkland at Holkham Hall (15 minutes), a Palladian-style mansion built in the 1700s. Its exquisitely proportioned, elegant rooms include the colonnaded Marble Hall, with a domed ceiling inspired by Rome’s Pantheon. Check out the collection of landscape paintings and the library, then hire a rowing boat to explore the pretty lake. Seaside adventures await at Holkham Beach (10 minutes), an expansive stretch of sand backed by vegetation-covered dunes that provide shelter to nesting birds such as terns and oystercatchers. There are several hides in the nearby pine grove. For more birdwatching action, walk west to the salt marshes and mud flats of Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve.
