What customers say

Peaceful, well-kept site near Wells. Spacious, private spots are a hit, though early cockerels can be a bit loud. Basic but clean facilities. Fire pits to hire, plus a fun miniature railway. Friendly, helpful owners.

Bantam powered grass caravan site

Liked Large pitches, there's only 5 in electric, but well spaced apart and you pick a free one upon arrival. There's 2 x composting toilets which were kept immaculate throughout. Its a generally quiet site, with the occasional steam train whistle in the distance. A great site for star gazing and lots of great facilities like everything you might need for a fire pit, Elsen point, water filling point etc.

Disliked Not a dislike, but be aware there are free roaming chickens (and baby chicks). Thus there is at least one cockerel who likes to announce himself early in the morning! It didn't bother or disturb us, but don't book in if you're worried about any noise.

Silkie unpowered grass tent site

Liked Lovely location, close proximity to Wells and Holkham. Large pitches, clean, functional compost toilets. Tap, general rubbish and recycling bins. All you need for a no fuss back to basics camping experience.

Disliked During my stay it was windy, so bring a windbreak just in case.

Silkie unpowered grass tent site

Liked This is the second year in a row we have visited grove farm, a total of 3 times. It’s a peaceful site, and the owners Jess and Ryan are lovely and very accommodating. The facilities fit the simple surroundings of the meadow, with swaths cut in to pitch your tent, so instead of an ugly shower block, there are 2 quant composting toilets, and found in the next area which takes a few vans, freshwater, campervan/caravan waste, general waste and recycling. They also sell logs, matches and eco fire lighters, and provide a fire brazier, if the weather is suitable to toast those marshmallows

There’s lots of wildlife present and a good place to view the star constellation

They also have bantam chickens and a Cockerel wandering on site. But I’d rather listen to a cockerel than airplanes, emergency services and human noise

Excellent value for money and a safe place for the children to play and explore while you cook

Disliked Not had any dislikes in all 3 vidts

Bantam powered grass caravan site

Liked Lovely quiet site (apart from the RAF planes flying over every now and then but the owners can't do anything about that) with amazing star gazing potential on clear nights. The kids loved the chicks following mother chicken round the site.

Bus stop to Wells was only a few minutes walk from the site which was good as the car parks in Wells all seemed to have height restrictions in place which were way to low for our motorhome.

Bantam powered grass caravan site

Liked Lovely peaceful site. Very clean and well kept. It is a farm in the countryside and has wild chickens visiting with their babies daily. There are also cockrells who complete the sound of the countryside.
The pitches are very large, Always help at hand if any problems. Close to Wells, and a fantastic beach at Brancaster about 20 mins away. A lovely site to just chill and relax. It is a basic site but that was fine for us with our caravan. We will be back next year!

Disliked Absolutely nothing to dislike.

Local attractions

Warham Camp (five minutes’ drive) is a large, circular Iron Age fort built by the local Iceni tribe on the River Stiffkey. Archaeological excavations have yielded ancient artefacts including shards of Roman pottery. For somewhat more recent history, head to Binham Priory (10 minutes), the ruins of an 11th-century Benedictine monastery. Deer roam the parkland at Holkham Hall (15 minutes), a Palladian-style mansion built in the 1700s. Its exquisitely proportioned, elegant rooms include the colonnaded Marble Hall, with a domed ceiling inspired by Rome’s Pantheon. Check out the collection of landscape paintings and the library, then hire a rowing boat to explore the pretty lake. Seaside adventures await at Holkham Beach (10 minutes), an expansive stretch of sand backed by vegetation-covered dunes that provide shelter to nesting birds such as terns and oystercatchers. There are several hides in the nearby pine grove. For more birdwatching action, walk west to the salt marshes and mud flats of Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve.
