Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked: Calming and peaceful location bordering between Shropshire in England and Wrexham in Wales. I liked the staff and the cafe which was on site. Toilets and showers always clean.

Disliked: Road was a bit noisy in the morning if you was pitched closer to the road. I couldn't get much signal but that was actually a good thing so I could connect to nature more.

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site

Liked: Great little quiet site , excellent shower & toilet block faculties. Very clean and warm even My wife used them a lot instead of the caravan . Right next to the canal with plenty of walks . Little on-site Fishing lake but the elusive CARP evaded me. The cafe on site which isn't officially affiliated to the site was excellent with some great food . Some of the best Full English breakfast have had in a long time.

Disliked: The access road full of potholes , needs addressing especially if your pulling caravans across it. Some water retention on some pitches not soaking away . Again all these are fixable. No wifi most people expect wifi now these days , even if it was an optional price . Didn't have that option

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site

Liked: Got a refund for the stay.

Disliked: No details of bookings kept at "Reception". It isn't really a Reception, just a cafe. Female staff were aggressive. Mostly seasonal pitches. Condition of pitches on offer were poor. One underwater and one made up of different types of hard-core and uneven. Appearance of site was like a builders compound.

Local attractions

Staying close to home from Hadley Park, the old Shropshire town of Whitchurch is less than a mile away, and the walks of the Sandstone Trail as well as the hacks of the Bishop Bennet Way are easily accessible via the Shropshire and Union Canal on site. Elsewhere, several famed Shropshire and Cheshire sights are within 20 miles of the park, like Chester Cathedral and the city's Roman ruins and amphitheatre; Chester Zoo and Chester Racecourse; the fab follies of Hawkestone Park, and the llamas, alpacas and 50 acres of greenery of Cholmondeley Castle Gardens. Nearby Shrewsbury is famed for its annual flower show and for its Darwin Trail commemorating the life and work of evolution dude Charles Darwin who was born in the town. More modernly, a good range of plays are held at the new Severn Theatre and several riverside pubs and restaurants are around at which to while the night away. The bars, cafés and independent shops of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Llangollen are within driving distance: other top town picks are a picnic in Riverside Park, a stroll along Victoria Promenade, and a steam straight ahead on the Llangollen Railway.
