Nice pub
Level pitches throughout the site
The thames head inn, between cirencester and tetbury
There's plenty of greenery around the site

  • Peaceful site on the edge of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds
  • 10 minutes’ drive from the towns of Cirencester and Tetbury
  • In the grounds of the Thames Head Inn bar-restaurant
Stunning landscapes, scenic market towns and the peace and quiet of the Cotswolds… How could you say no to that? At family-friendly site The Thames Head Inn, four miles from Cirencester market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, you definitely won't want to miss the chance. Thames Head is well-placed for exploring the spectacular Cotswolds on foot or by bike – the start of the Thames Path, which follows the world-famous river for 184 miles from source to sea, is half a mile from the site, and there are loads of cycles tours and walking routes starting in Cirencester and Tetbury, both within 10 minutes’ drive of the site. If that's not your scene, kick back on the dog-friendly site in the shade of the trees, soaking in the scenic and peaceful Cotswolds countryside, or take a relaxed stroll through the fields with Rex. Worked up an appetite? The site is in the grounds of the Thames Head Inn bar-restaurant, where food is served well into the evening and the drinks keep flowing until closing (remember to book a table, as mealtimes can get very busy). If you fancy fending for yourself, pick up supplies in Cirencester or Kemble – a 20-minute walk away – and fire up the barbecue. For a change of scenery – and menus – there are plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes of Thames Head.

What customers say

Tidy, compact site with level gravel pitches & EHU behind the Thames Head Inn. Friendly staff, great grub, peaceful vibe. Good for Cotswolds exploring & walks. Single loo/shower is a bit tight, but ace for a short break, esp. for the pub.

Liked Good location, well set up gravel pitches. Very clean. Disposal point basic- two inspection chamber covers with rope handles but well maintained.

Disliked The pub would not do us breakfast - the resident guests are their priority.
Limited facilities - single toilet/washroom with shower.

Liked The campsite was very clean and very spacious. Also the pub was right there too and did amazing menu and the food was so delicious.

Disliked Toilets/shower- only one and in the same room.
Satnav brought us down the road into a little entry .. need to make sure you put the pub name in your sat nav. As we pulled in to turn round and then realised we was at the site, very narrow to drive round the back of pub in places.

Liked The location is great. Very close to the start of the Thames path and the source of the Thames. Handy for Cirencester, Tetbury and the surrounding Cotswolds. The pub itself is lovely and the staff, food and beer are great. Lots of walks possible from site.

Disliked Could maybe do with another toilet/shower room.

Liked Great pitches at the back of the Inn.. a short walk from the bar and great evening meals. This is our third stay and never been disappointed. The source of the Thames is about 20 to.30.mins away..Great price for a clean pitch.

Disliked Only one loo shower. Really missed s trick ss they do not do breakfasts for those on touring pitches. Would be great to have that option when booking. Paying in advance of course. There is some noise from road close by, but didnt wake us.
