Μου άρεσε A nice quiet no fuss campsite in a lovely location. You just let yourself in and pick a pitch. Clean toilets and a shower for any campervans which aren't self-contained or those that want a bit more space than on-board showers. Also facilities for grey waste and chemical toilet disposal. No phone signal but there was WiFi which I had no issues with. Some had trouble connecting but think they just got the casing of the password wrong. Check the sign at the entrance for the clearest instructions.

Δεν μου άρεσε These are all minor things. Toilets were a little cramped, but still usable (I am 6ft for reference). Similar in space to the ones on an airliner I would say. There is only one shower so there can be a queue sometimes. As mentioned, all minor stuff though to be expected of a smaller site, and happy to deal with that for the quieter environment and scenary. The only major thing really was the bin was overflowing when I arrived and there was probably another bin full piled up when I left. Looked like some hadn't bothered to sort their rubbish though and there was plenty of space in the recycling bins.

Μου άρεσε Extremely friendly welcome, good welcome leaflet with info about local walks, on-site shop, good hot showers, nice clean site, and the interesting quirk of camping inside a walled garden.

Δεν μου άρεσε Had to remember to return the key fob for the barrier which I expect they go missing a lot. Would be good if they had a bit of string/ribbon attached so that you can fasten them to your steering wheel. That way it's an automatic reminder when you go to leave the site. Otherwise the only dislike was I was only staying for one night. I'm sure I'll be back.

Μου άρεσε Good pitch. facilities very good and clean. Even had a fridge with a cold water dispenser (handy when it was 30 degrees). Tea and coffee in the shop on a morning as well so no need to be boiling the kettle on a gas stove. The thing that stood out the most though were the hosts. Friendliest I've ever known for a campsite. Novice camper in the group was very impressed.

Δεν μου άρεσε The heat meant bbqs had to be done in a designated area but perfectly understandable and the area had plenty of picnic tables and even some nesting birds to admire. Kids were riding bikes quite fast and close to the pitch. Didn't bother us much but might be worth looking at a designated area for this in future. Maybe a little track with a couple of bumps for them to go over and keep them entertained?

Μου άρεσε No light pollution. On a clear night, you can see all the stars. The moon was out when I was there but I will definitely be looking to visit again when it is not. While not for everyone, this very much lives up to "wild camping". It's a dirt track (which I found very fun) and very few facilities. That's how you get the dark skies though and the views from the top of the site are amazing.

Δεν μου άρεσε These are not dislikes but just warnings to others to be prepared. The toilets are very basic and the water tank does not have drinking water (not sure if there was a tap for drinking water somewhere). It can also get very cold, very windy and very wet. Make sure you prepare well, have the correct equipment, and stick to the track if you don't have a vehicle equipped for off road. Be sure you have a towing eye front and back in case you get stuck. If you prepare well, you'll be rewarded with some amazing views.

Μου άρεσε Great little site. Only small so was quiet (the time of year probably helped). Owners are very friendly and have plenty of local knowledge. Animals all seem quite friendly as well. You wouldn't expect much from the facilities from the outside but on the inside they're great. The showers are hot and have plenty of pressure. There is also plenty of space for towels and clothes. Showers and toilets all look clean. It was quite cloudy when I visited but the site is quite dark so I expect the night sky is quite impressive on a clear night.

Δεν μου άρεσε The pot washing area could do with a more thorough clean. There seemed to be some food waste in the basin but there was a bowl so not a big issue. In future, this area might benefit from a shelter for poor weather and a light on a timer. At the moment though there are some hooks which you can put a lantern on. The site can get quite dark on a night which can make maneuvering a bit tricky, especially as the pitches are a bit of a squeeze. Some more of the solar lights along the edge of the tracks I think would help a lot.

Μου άρεσε Very clean facilities, some of the best I've seen. Lots of stars when you look up. Was warned about gates being locked overnight on arrival and given option of a key for a deposit.

Δεν μου άρεσε Getting onto the pitch seemed a bit tight. Wouldn't like to attempt it with a large motorhome. People managed it with caravans though so maybe it's fine.

Μου άρεσε Great food and drink at the restaurant. Spacious pitches. Only stayed one night as was booked in at mont saint michel but wish I'd stayed another night here instead. Explained all recycling on arrival.

Δεν μου άρεσε Showers seemed to be cold and had a lot of standing water. Possibly due to them being very busy after the rainstorm and simply ran out of hot water and didn't have time to drain away. There was equipment in the showers for clearing the water so maybe just needs a sign asking people to use them after having a shower. Other wise all facilities were very clean though.

Μου άρεσε Feels like a bit of a hidden gem. Down quiet back roads (be prepared for some challenging encounters in a van/motorhome) and away from big places so dark skies for seeing the stars at night. Facilities are very clean and much better than I would expect for a site without ehu. Good local knowledge from owner. Very glad I took their suggestion for food. Good fire safety as well. Not seen many campsites provide buckets of water for fires. Couldn't have a fire at the time because of the drought (more fore safety) but good to see anyway.

Δεν μου άρεσε Only 2 minor points. When checking in there was no answer at the office. Another couple arrived while I was waiting and another guest arrived (after dark tbf) to the same issue. Could maybe just do with a sign to say "back in 10" with a number to call if waiting a while. Mobile number provided by pitchup.com worked fine for me though. Other issue is the hooks in the showers are rounded so it's quite easy for towels to drop off. Could do with full hooks instead but probably also worth me adding a hoop to my towel. I expect it's a problem quite a few sites have.

Μου άρεσε All facilities are there and there was a nice big grass area left open in the middle for kids to play. Nice woodland next to the site for a short walk and shops were only a 5 minute walk down the road.

Δεν μου άρεσε Showers and toilets could do with a remodel but still perfectly functional and clean. Floor in the shower rooms ended up a bit muddy from the combination of shoes and water. I've seen another campsite leave a mop and bucket of water to wash it out once you're done which would be good. Both minor points though.
