Μου άρεσε We absolutely loved this site. Me and my two boys (10 and 7) stayed for 3 nights in a roof box tent at the meadow part. It was clean, quiet and relaxing. The lake is absolutely stunning and we enjoyed the kayaks, boats and swimming. We also brought our paddle board and was perfect to practise standing up. The tiki kitchen is absolutely stunning and the food was lovely!! The pizzas are cooked to perfection. I loved there was an option to use flushing toilets as compost toilets isn’t for me, did try to use it once but the smell was just so strong i couldn’t do it and I took the lovely walk over the lit bridge each time. I liked the shower feel in the wood ones and the showers was nice and powerful, the only downside was the water would run hot and cold. The staff are really friendly and pleasant

Δεν μου άρεσε Wasn’t an issue for me but the hill down to the lake is quite steep, my youngest struggled with the walk back up. There was no hot water for washing up.

It sounds like you really enjoyed the lake and using your paddleboard and so pleased you had a good time at the onsite cafe the Tipi Kitchen and liked the woodfired pizzas. We know that not everybody is happy using the composting units so we're glad you appreciated the choice of flushing ones nearby instead! There is a bit of a hill down to the lake but the gentler path is just round the back and only a couple of minutes' longer. See you next year!

Μου άρεσε Really liked this campsite. Me and my partner just wanted a nice relaxing weekend before the school holidays crazy with the kids and we had exactly that. It was very peaceful and relaxing! The animals there are lovely, I really enjoyed feeding and petting them. The showers/toilet were nice and clean and the toilet was kept stocked with toilet roll. The fridge in the shop was really useful. The owners was lovely and really helpful, we have a roof tent so the car isn’t really usable once we have set up and our gas canister run out mid breakfast and they had a spare gas cooker we could use to finish cooking the bacon and then the lady picked us up a canister for us while she was out, it saved our whole trip.

Δεν μου άρεσε Not the sites fault but the river isn’t really ideal for paddle boarding when there isn’t much rain, it to gets shallow in places.

Μου άρεσε The campsite is lovely and the woman that greeted us was nice and friendly. We stayed in a roof tent and would recommend ramps as not much of the ground is level. The first pitch we had was way to slanted but was able to ring and ask if we could move and it was no problem at all. A nice forest dog walk to the beach which is a little longer or 10 mins down the road, we went the long way to keep dog cooler. Campsite was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed our 3 night stay.

Δεν μου άρεσε That you couldn’t change the temp of the showers, it was so hot and just wanted to jump into a cool shower but once it’s hot, it’s boiling and was no good with sunburn. The shop wasn’t very well stocked and no cold drinks in the fridges, the lady did say they hadn’t had there delivery yet for summer though.

The temperature can certainly feel hotter with sunburn but this restriction is for your health and safety . This helps to prevent any possible scolding and this is why there is no adjustable temperature dial. Keeping all users safe is our priority. Chycarne

Μου άρεσε That you can choose where to pitch up, Quiet at night time. It wasn’t porta loos. It was a last minute trip for me and my 10 year old and we didn’t need a lot other than a toilet and shower and it had just that. Just a very standard field. I kinda wish we booked there other sight on the cliff edge with views.
