Μου άρεσε Lovely quiet site which is clearly still developing. New toilets and showers which were immaculate and cleaned each afternoon. We initially book for two nights but ended up extending our stay! You can watch the jets flying over at regular frequency’s and you are close to spectator zones for both Lakenheath and Mildenhall. The site has three lakes onsite which we enjoyed walking around each evening. We did fish for one afternoon but had no success. In close proximity we visited the Mildenhall hub for swimming which was immaculate. Thetford forest and West Stow Anglo Saxon village. The site is still developing and I look forward to returning for short breaks away, hopefully being able to have a campfire and seeing the sites progress.

Δεν μου άρεσε One shower was slow to drain and easily flooded across the floor. You rarely see people on-site the number provided on pitch up goes straight to voicemail. When fishing there was a large family who were regularly fighting whilst packing up which seemed to take hours. The language they used was discussing with my son (6) asking what they mean. Again there was no one around to report this too. (This isn’t a reflection on the camping area as this is set away from the lakes).

Μου άρεσε Lovely quiet site based in the country side and through a cider farm orchard. Close to many attractions and beaches. The rustic feel to the site adds to the atmosphere. We were anxious about the use of compostable toilets but they weren’t too unpleasant and kept relatively clean. Unfortunately some of the saw dust does make it into the showers making it seem unclean.

Δεν μου άρεσε On arrival we were unable to contact anyone regarding where to pitch the tent. One number went to voicemail and the other was an ex employee. The site was lovely and quiet until the final night when a large group arrived with screaming children. I don’t mind playing but this was chase games until late and from 6:30am. One of the dogs also let itself into our tent. This unfortunately wasn’t addressed at the time as the owner had gone on his own holiday and no alternate numbers were left for us to contact. Throughout the region there are multiple signs regarding no fires or bbqs. On the final night many people appeared to ignore these signs and multiple tents had fires on the extremely dry grass. There was no one around to notify of this either. I would a dive someone does occasional checks on the camping feilds in the evenings whilst the fire ban is in place.

Μου άρεσε The pitch was well maintained and freshly mown. The facilities were new and the site appeared to be expanding/ adding to the site. The site was close to Hornsea and 30 minutes from Hull. We would highly recommend a trip to The Deep.

Δεν μου άρεσε On arrival there were a lot of tents for the size of the area. If we arrived 30 minutes later we would not have been able to fit. Unfortunately this became another family’s problem- with their tent blowing away in the wind and getting ripped as a result. Luckily the overcrowding only lasted one day before majority of the people left. Despite the toilet block clearly being new it needed more frequent cleaning and new shower curtains as the showers smelt of damp. Some of this was due to not so nice people staying on site and wiping faeces on the wall due to lack of toilet roll. This was not noticed, with me pointing this out several days later to the person cleaning. Bins were not emptied and the main rubbish bin was overflowing leading to bags being on the floor next to it. The nail in the coffin to our time here were the rats. We were invaded three nights in a row leading to use packing up and leaving two nights early. We did everything we could to deter the rats but were woken in the night with them knocking and moving things in the awning. The rats chewed our footprints and door of the tent causing £100’s of damage. Then on our final evening one gained access to our inner tent running under the carpet. I highly advise things are put in place to help minimise the rats in the area. I am more frustrated that we contacted the site owner and received no response to our message, not even so much as an apology!
