Μου άρεσε Great location with spacious pitches and fantastic views. The hard-standing for campervans and motorhomes each had an individual power point and water tap just a couple of metres away. Although immediately adjacent to the road there was little noise during the day and virtually none at night, except for the odd cow or sheep in the adjacent fields. I have a personal dislike of Presta taps and showers and believe that there should be a small corner of Hell reserved for the inventor, so it was good to find a shower with an on/off switch that let you run it for as long as you like without having to press a button every few seconds.

Δεν μου άρεσε The owners have clearly spent a lot of time and effort modernising the facilities but there is room for further improvement. The showers were lukewarm at best and prone to turning cold without warning, also the direction control of individual showers varied enormously with at least one having such a wide spray that the majority missed unless you moved around. There was also one that wouldn’t switch off properly and was running constantly wasting a lot of water. The site could do with more than two sinks for washing up and a second bin store for waste and recycling.

Μου άρεσε Small well maintained camp site, with good spacing between the vans. Access to local walks & the banks of the loch and only a short cycle/drive to Killin itself.

Δεν μου άρεσε Toilet/showers a little dated and in need of upgrading. That said, there was plenty of hot water and a separate area to put your clothes and to get dry & changed afterwards. Some improvement also needed to the cleaning regime as there were a lot of dead flies on the windowsill and the area behind the door in the ladies toilet block had lots of cobwebs and dead things.

Μου άρεσε Great little camp site within walking distance of the picturesque village of Cerne Abbas, which has three good pubs. The staff were very friendly, giving us a choice of pitches, details of local walks and recommendations on where to eat and drink. The toilets were spotlessly clean and tidy with a new shower block under construction at the time of our visit.

Δεν μου άρεσε One side of the site shares a boundary with the road, which although isn't the main road in the area, does mean that there was quite a lot of traffic noise during the day. The noise quietened down in the evening and was almost non-existent overnight. The vehicles using the road, particularly the motorbikes, were flying past at excessive speed so care needed when leaving the site and when crossing the road to the footpath opposite.

Από τον διαχειριστή: Thank you for your lovely comments, you are right it is beautiful here and we are so lucky to have 3 great pubs in Cerne Abbas and also a few more in the Piddle Valley and surrounding area. We were hoping to have our new shower block up and running by now but unfortunately we were been rained off earlier this year, however we are up to roof level now so it should be finished shortly with 4 lovely new showers. The road by the site can be a bit busy, and some drivers do go far too fast, however I am hoping that there will be some form of speed control here in the very near future.
