Butterwick Alpaca Retreat

Μου άρεσε We’ve been coming to the yurt at Butterwick Alpha Retreat for the past three years, and it’s the only place we choose to return to time and again. It’s such a special spot – peaceful, relaxed, and full of freedom for the children to roam and explore. They love interacting with the wide range of animals, which makes the experience even more magical.

The hosts are absolutely fantastic – welcoming, thoughtful, and always make us feel right at home. Every visit gives us the chance to truly unwind, reconnect, and enjoy the simple pleasures of being close to nature.

Butterwick Alpha Retreat is a real gem, and we’re already looking forward to our next stay.

Μου άρεσε Everything!!!! This was our second annual visit to the Glamping tent (although we have visited the animals on lots of different occasions in between 🤩)

The facilities are so clean and comfortable, the setup has everything you could need and the kids are already asking when we can go and stay again. The animals and hosts are so loving and welcoming, the animals love all of the attention and the whole experience is so calming, relaxing and therapeutic. It's just the most lovely things to do in the summer holidays. Thankyou so much for having us again Anna and Chris xx

Μου άρεσε We stayed with our 15 month old who enjoyed spending time with the animals. There was lots of space for the little one to run around in safe enclosed spaces. The bell tent was lovely and had everything we needed. Anna and Chris were very helpful and friendly hosts. Would recommend.

Μου άρεσε Anna has a pretty special place here at Butterwick Alpaca retreat. Our girls loved switching off for a bit and playing with the baby goats, guinea pigs and bunnies. The alpacas are so lovely and we were lucky to see the new arrivals. Bell tent set up is really good and it's just a lovely little site to get away from it all. Our third year now and we will be back next year!!!

Μου άρεσε We liked absolutely everything about our stay, from Anna's phone call before we arrived to give us more detailed directions to alpaca selfies, bunny cuddles and everything in-between. It was a much needed time away from phones and tablets to get some fresh air and spend some quality time together. Anna was an amazing host that could not do enough for us. The bell tent was beautiful and spacious with everything you could possibly need for a night away. The kids (9 and 6) loved every second and can't wait to go back, which we will definitely be doing next year! Not only have we left with lovely memories and photos but eggs too. Can't recommend enough x

Μου άρεσε Our party was a group of 6 with 2 Adults and 4 children aged 6-10.

We absolutely loved our stay at Butterwick. 🥰

You have your own private enclosed paddock with a beautiful belle tent, picnic bench, hammock and firepit/BBQ.

The belle tent was beautifully decorated with lots of lovely finishing touches and the host had literally thought of everything and provided all that you'd need from cutlery and crockery down to antibac wipes.

Anna was really friendly and welcoming and on hand if we needed anything at all. ❤️

Two of the children in our party have SEN and it was so lovely to be able to access such safe, welcoming environment where they felt comfortable and were able to interact with and hand feed the animals at their own pace and leisure.

The hammock was a firm favourite and is such a great addition to the paddock.

I would highly recommend Butterwick Alpaca Retreat and cannot wait to rebook next year 🦙✨ xx

Picture perfect setting, amazing hosts who are so passionate about their animals and so welcoming and willing to pass on their knowledge.
This was our 2nd visit we love it so much, a place that our children can explore freely and interact with nature.

Μου άρεσε This is one of the best places we have camped! The tent is lovely and clean, has all the amenaties you will need for cooking. Anna was lovely in offering to help us with the fire pit when it was windy and even offered directions to local places.

The animals are lovely and you can spend time with them, you can also purchase feed for them. There is also lots of wildlife around to watch building nests and interacting with Anna's animals.

The location is great, it feels like your a million mile from reality but is about 15 minutes away from town.
