New gallery opens in Hastings – in a three-man tent

We think this will be the smallest photo gallery in Britain – and the only one set up in a traditional tent.
The Tent Gallery, set up by Hastings artists and camping fans Martin Symons and David Fowler, is a nine square foot display area which will host a number of photography exhibitions this year.
Submissions are still open for the first exhibition planned for 2013, on the theme of theme Holiday Heaven/Holiday Hell, with photographers invited to send in images relating to holidays. Images can be posted or sent digitally.
‘We are looking for old or new holiday snapshots, images that relate to holidays, beautiful/dreadful landscapes or anything else really,’ Martin says.
‘We're not interested in composition, technical prowess or anything special, we just want images that connect with the theme. You can interpret it any way you want, creating new images if you like or you can dig around in your old photo albums to find something interesting.’
The tent, with around 100 photos inside, will be pitched in Hastings on January 24.
