There's lots to do in the immediate surroundings of the site if you want go hiking, mountain biking, sledding, quad biking or motorbiking, with plenty more peaceful options within cycling and driving distance, including tree climbing at La Fôret de Robin four kilometres away. Mirmande, a few kilometres from the site, is one of the region's designated botanical villages as well as a place of historic buildings and spectacular scenery: have an amble around its narrow streets, green areas and medieval ramparts to take in views across the surrounding countryside from the top of its hill. Montélimar, home of nougat, Roman remains and a medieval castle, is 15 kilometres away. Nougat has been made here since the 18th century and about 4,500 tonnes are produced in town annually, so go and see the sticky story of the industry at Montélimar's Palace of Sweets. Between 30 and 35 kilometres away are several other excellent options for day trips, including the Château de Grignan, the Pierrelatte Crocodile Farm, villages of the Ardèche including Alba-la-Romaine and Saint-Montan, the Parc Jovet gardens and Drôme capital Valence.
