Tilføj oplysninger om din virksomhedIf you saw the name Zen and started imagining a fabulously chilled-out and peaceful place to stay… well, you’d be correct in your assumptions. This peaceful Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur site is in the middle of the woods, about 10 minutes’ drive from Cotignac.
There are just a small handful of pitches here, and they’re all nicely shaded by the trees in a quiet spot where you’ll mostly just hear leaves rustling and crickets chirping. These are simple pitches for adults only, but dogs are welcome. There’s no mains electricity here, but solar panels mean you can charge things like phones and torches. The site also has a small swimming pool with a solar-heated shower, and guests have access to a bathroom with an Italian shower and toilet (plus use of the owners’ fridge on request).
Once you’re settled in you may find that just chilling out in the woods becomes your main activity, perhaps with a few drinks and snacks sourced from the shops and Tuesday market in Cotignac (one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, incidentally, so well worth a wander…) This site is a great base for various activities as well though, so you’ll be able to get out for château visits, waterfall walks and time exploring the area’s troglodyte dwellings.

Presumably you’ve come in search of some lovely scenery as well as a peaceful experience? Well, there’s plenty of that around – a 20-minute drive will get you to Le Bessillon for hill hikes, or to either Sillans-la-Cascade or Chutes du Caramy, where you can finish your waterfall walk with a dip in the cool natural waters.
Kids will no doubt enjoy a trip to Aoubré l'Aventure Nature (45 minutes’ drive), which has treetop adventure courses along with a barefoot trail and an animal park at ground level. They’ll also probably like a day at Lac De Sainte-Croix (an hour), with beach areas and watersports to try out. Over in the same area, the stunning Gorges du Verdon (an hour and a half) are well worth visiting as well.
Closer to home, there are chances to check out some historic local dwellings at Château d’Entrecasteaux (15 minutes) and the troglodyte caves of Villecroze (25 minutes). Former Cistercian monastery Abbaye du Thoronet (half an hour) is another place that’s good to add to your list.
