Camping du Pont de Braye is a haven for anyone who wants to spend their time on the water: set up rod and reel on the banks of the Chapeauroux and see if you can land a trout, chub, minnow or grouper, or try your luck at Naussac lake, a 15-minute drive from the site. Take to the Naussac waters for windsurfing, sailing, kayaking and kiteboarding, or chase something a little more high octane with rafting or canoe trekking. If you prefer to keep your feet dry, pay a visit to the village of Chastanier, three kilometres from the site, to get a feel for the history of the region with a trip to a listed historic monument – the 12th-century church of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur – and its Musée d’Art sacré. Entertain the kids with a trip to La Vallon du Villaret, a 40-minute drive from Pont de Braye, where games, art and nature are brought together in a theme park that’s well worth exploring.
