Manoir de Penn Ar Ster

This is a stonkingly scenic area of France and of Brittany, set near the Brittany coast and close to famed old towns, old buildings, outdoor and watery sports, and très tasty seafood. Manoir de Penn Ar Ster's local village of Forêt-Fouesnant is a seaside place steeped like the rest of this area in Breton history and tradition. It holds regular Breton festivals in summer with food, music and traditional Breton dancing. Also old and trad is Concarneau seven kilometres away, the small town on the Gulf of Cornouaille with its walled and medieval Ville Close, fishing museum and ferry to the village of Lanriec. Quimper 15 kilometres away is also a must, to see traditional Brittany in miniature at its half-timbered houses, river footbridges and old cathedral. The town's also known for its weekly market and its cuisine, particularly seafood. Activities-wise in the area, a sailing school is in Port la Forêt and a diving school in Concarneau.
