Naturwunder Stellplätze

The Schlögen Loop is one of the biggest draws in this area, and there’s good news for customers at Naturwunder Stellplätze – because it’s only about 500 metres away from the site. Getting down there for a close view is an excellent thing, and you’ll be able to take a walk along the Donausteig hiking trail or ride the Donauradweg bike trail to see some more of the scenery. That said, for the full effect of the 180-degree bend you’ll really need to see it from above by visiting the Schlögener Blick viewpoint (10 minutes’ drive). For more outdoor adventures, take a walk around the Kerzenstein (25 minutes), a granite rock shaped like a candle, or head up into the treetops on the elevated wooden walkway at Baumkronenweg (35 minutes). Meeting the wildlife at Tierpark Altenfelden (40 minutes) is often popular with families, as is simply riding the Donaubus ferry along the river from Au (25 minutes). Dip into local history by visiting the ruins of Schaunberg Castle (20 minutes) and the much more intact Marsbach Castle (20 minutes). Meanwhile, Römerbad and Römerpark Schlögen (10 minutes) showcases the area’s Roman history at its open-air museum.
