Syntes om Arrived in pitch dark and drove straight in. Couldn’t actually see the camp site! After a bit of manoeuvring we reversed back and found our pitch. All ready with our name on it.
Only stayed the one night but was impressed by the facilities and it’s in a gorgeous area.

Syntes om We have been to this site a number of times as we love the peace and quiet. Also we enjoy the walk to the Kings Head in the village of East Hoathly. The pitches are always well kept and the shower and toilet block is spotless.

Syntes om Very quiet site, facilities were clean and modern, owners were so helpful, even got me some tomatoes 🍅 for my salad.

Syntes om It was a wonderful site just five pitches.
Very well looked after the shower block and toilets were excellent.
It made for a most relaxing time overlooking green fields with sheep in.

Fra bestyreren: Hi thank you for your review. In the seven years I have run this site, I have never had anyone comment on the length of the grass! The grass is cut regularly. During this summer the grass took a pounding with the lack of rain. When it started to rain we decided that we would let it grow and only cut weekly. It was unfortunate that we missed a cut the other week due to holiday. The grass has now been cut. In the spring we leave a few cuts so all the spring wild flowers can grow like buttercup wood anemone, bluebells and primroses.

Syntes ikke om Something that would be beneficial is cost effective solar lights on each of the 5 pitches, which light up the pitch number. I arrive very late in the dark and couldn’t see my pitch number, so would be a cost effective thing to resolve this thanks.

Syntes om Excellent location with quiet surroundings. Great clean modern toilet and shower blocks. Nice spacious pitches. I would highly recommend this site and would definitely book here again.

Syntes om Impressed by the quality of facilities. Nice, quiet location.

Syntes ikke om Lack of attention of owners - no one there to check us in, no information provided on which pitch we were supposed to be in and couldn’t contact owners - had to change plans as a result. No toilet paper in the toilets and no one on site to sort it out. A campsite can’t run itself.

Fra bestyreren: This review does not reflect what we offer here at Scallows and very disappointed to get a 5/10. We have consistently have excellent reviews and have won Campsite of the Year for East Sussex 6 years in a row with Corporate livewire. We have a self check in here at Scallow. As we only have six pitches here we are unable to have someone here waiting for guests to arrive. Each pitch has a board with the name on it, indicating which pitch the guest is staying on. The numbers of the owner and Housekeeper are on the noticeboard and on the information provided. Julie did get a message and replaced the toilet roll. We have changed the dispense from leaving out toilet rolls (which were being taken) to a dispenser that has rolls of 300m of toilet roll. We apolgise for an oversite regarding toilet roll, we are well aware that a campsite cant run itself and take great pride in what we offer here at Scallows. You only have to read the review we get on Pitchup Campsites, Caravan and Camping Club, Booking dot com and Airbnb.

Syntes om Location and facilities. When you arrive names are added to boards on the pitch which is great, but not clear in booking confirmation.
