Lakeside Caravan Park and Fisheries

Syntes om Beautiful site. A lovely friendly welcome from the lovely Kate at reception. We had a lovely pitch overlooking the lake, so peaceful. Toilet/shower blocks were very clean and the whole site was very well kept. We were trying out our little van on our first ever stay at a campsite and we instantly relaxed when we arrived at our pitch. We will definitely be back and make it one of our regular stays.

Syntes om I liked the general site layout, everything was well looked after and tidy. Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Good facilities, ie, plenty of water taps and electric hook ups if you need them. The shower/toilet block was great.

Syntes ikke om No recycling facilities unfortunately, although the showers worked well, they could do with a little tlc (ie: broken hooks on the backs of the doors so limited space to hang your towel and clean clothes, also one of the doors didn't lock).

Syntes om this is the 16th campsite of our summer tour and without doubt one of the best. Situated just off the A10 at Denver Downham Market. The site is an excellent mix of seasonal pitches , tents and 1 or 2 motorhomes. 3 fishing lakes , although 2 were shut because of the drought. The site is mature coming with a childrens play area , a centrally located building for toilets, showers and water. They also have food trucks and a bar over the weekends. We cycle , and it took us around 15 mins to reach the centre of Downham. A lovely little Norfolk town, with shops , restaurants and bars. Even a Weatherspoons if thats your cup of tea or pint. There are also pubs within 15mins walk, including the bar at the Golf Club next door. In range of the big air bases at Lakenheath or Mildendall, so you get a glimpse or two of the USAF's planes. Sandra the owner is hands on and usually around. All in all we loved it.

Syntes om The grounds were lovely, and the lakes stunning. Our pitch was really nice as we set up under a lovely big willow tree.

Syntes ikke om The facilities are really poor and they were grubby and unclean - to the point you didn't want to go over and use them. They desperately need to be upgraded but even a deep clean would improve them. The smell was so bad in the toilets (urine) that you smelt of it on your clothes when you returned to your pitch. The whole experience of the toilets and showers was just grim.

There was also a very discrimitive sign up in the toilets on the notice board saying - our pitch prices are for 1 family only (Mother, Father and their children". It's 2026, there are many different types of families these days.

It's such a shame as this could be a really lovely site but the facilities let it down massively.

Also generally there is one field for tents (away in the corner), and it's quite noisy generally till way past 11pm, quite a bit of swearing too... and lots of ants... lady said I should write a review so the right sort of people visit...

Advertises showers, tho needed a £1 coin to operate, was given £1 at check-in giving me 5mins.

Fra bestyreren: Thank you for your review. Unfortunately there was a music festival in the area the days you were staying with us which we were not aware of and was out of our control. We are surrounded by fields and noise does travel. In your message the following day regarding the noise you said that the whole purpose of your camping trip was to sleep. The majority of other campers on your field came to have fun and mix with others. Noise levels on the site are monitored but if you don't tell us at the time you are not giving us the chance to put it right. I would like to say that we had no other complaints of noise that weekend and we were practically full. I advised that you put a review on as we have nothing to hide and feel that any review negative or positive is good for people to see
