Syntes om Fantastic site, toilets and shower spotless and great quality, views amazing, private dog area, cafe, fishing lake amazing access to the canal and into Whitchurch. Just so much great about this site. We are even planning to come back next weekend we enjoyed it so much.

Syntes om The Waterside Shepherds Hut was at the end of the campsite a stonesthrow away from the canal which you could see through the fence. At most you saw people walking/ driving up and down the lane to the canal. Left to Whitchurch but you had to come off the tow path because you quite obviously can't get passed the Llangollen breach. Very beautiful everywhere.

Free dog exercise field but other dogs are allowed to use it at the same time so just be wary.

There is a cafe on site open at regular times throughout the week. Check the site's Facebook page.

Toilet/shower facilities are lovely, very clean and spacious. The accessible toilet/shower room in spacious too. Hand soap and hand dryers at the sinks.

The husband caught on the fishing lake too he had some fun catching 9lb carp etc. The lake itself is having a bit of tlc to make it even better.

Very tidy everywhere.

Nearest shop is Aldi which is a 30 minute walk along the canal then the busy hain road or 5 minutes in your car. Starbucks, McDonald's and Asda local all at the garage on the island.

Bring a container to get water, there isn't a standpipe specifically for The Waterside Shepherds Hut. There are standpipes behind the seasonal caravans and we were told by the caravan owners to help ourselves.

Bring a cool bag or box with ice blocks to freeze, there isn't any way of keeing your milk etc cold within the Hut. There is a fridge freezer in the room where you can wash your pots. We got our blocks frozen no problem.

The toilet block is a minutes walk away but you may want to consider alternative ideas for during the night if you're going to get desperate 😊

Helpful and friendly staff. Thanks to Dawn for a nice welcome.
Good cafe at site entrance with extensive breakfast and lunch menu.
Excellent and clean site facilities.
Good fishing on site for a small daily charge.
Lovely canal side walks direct from site.
Bus service (no.146) can be flagged down at the site entrance to get into Whitchurch town centre (around 10 mins).
You can also walk into Whitchurch along the canal towpath for most of the way, which takes around 45 mins.
Also, an Aldi close to site.
A McDonalds as well if that`s your thing.
Would definitely stay again if in the area.

This died down at night.
Can`t think of anything else that we didn`t like.

Syntes om Good sized pitch . Lovely view of the pool. On site cafe very good. Very helpful staff. New management keen to please. Clean facilities

Syntes om Peaceful, clean site and a nice fishing lake available.

Syntes ikke om Toilet seat in women’s cubicle needs adjustment. Unfortunately some pot smoking going on but that is a reflection on the individuals not the site

Syntes om Clean and tidy, immaculate toilet /shower block, and utility room with washer dryer and microwave, lovely setting,I've already booked to go again in a couple weeks. This site is a perfect size for peace and tranquility. Close to all shops. Lovely on site café, next to canal. This is now a new favourite to camp.

Syntes ikke om No communal freezer that I could see, this would have been perfect especially with the recent heat wave.

Syntes om Well maintained small site. Easy to navigate. Fantastic cafe on site. Toilet/shower block modern and spotlessly clean central to the site. Short walk into Whitchurch and a 3 minute drive to the nearest supermarket for supplies. Very reasonable pitch price. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Syntes om We had a one night stay on the 4th July we stayed on poolside the pitches are well kept the toilet and shower block are spotless, we had food in the cafe very nice and reasonably priced staff were very friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly with a dog run which is a good idea.we will definitely return to walk the canal into Whitchurch to see what it has to offer.
