Camp in a helicopter (or a double-decker bus)

You won’t be able to take off in it, but you’ll be able to have a novelty night’s camping with the new addition at a Brighton site.
Blackberry Wood Campsite at Plumpton has just added another ‘caravan’ – an air-sea rescue helicopter that sleeps up to five.
Tim Johnson, who runs Blackberry Wood, bought the Royal Navy Wessex copter to add to the other less run-of-the-mill sleeping options on site, including a double decker bus and a restored vintage gypsy caravan. He’s also added a mural to it, painted by local artist Grant Dejonge.
Tim said: ‘I was looking for an old private jet to convert but they’re a bit cramped inside so I managed to track down a helicopter.
‘It has military markings on one side – we’re a campsite and I wanted to soften the war aspect – so I asked Grant to paint the mural and thought of a mermaid emerging from the sea to reflect its former use as a rescue helicopter.’
The painted ‘Holicopter’ is fully heated and sleeps two couples or a family of four.
