Pull off the highway and you’ll quickly be greeted with big country views – this is a place that looks out over the Big Horn Mountains, with lots of visiting birds and other wildlife to spot around the grounds. It’s the kind of estate that lends itself well to time spent by the campfire with a cold drink or few, taking in the mountain views by day or looking up into the starry skies by night. The lodge owners have noted over the years that once guests are settled they’re often reluctant to move again – but move you should, because this is a most scenic area, with plenty of places to hike locally (or more leisurely walks to take around the lodge’s own sizeable acreage). Horse riding, fishing, boating and wildlife-spotting wilderness trips can all be booked with local outfitters if you’re in search of alternative activities.
Among the amenities at this park are a laundry area and free wifi service – both likely to be much appreciated if you decide to settle in for a lengthy stay. For the rest of your needs, Buffalo has plenty of shops, places to eat and other facilities.
