There’s an awful lot to do in and around Lifestyle Holidays at Castell Montgri, so it’s handy that the mobile homes require very little effort from guests to get everything set up.
Each of the spacious caravans at this site is kitted out with much of what you’ll need for your holiday: a well-equipped kitchen, a living room with TV and DVD player, a bathroom and air conditioning to keep it all nice and temperate. Outside on the wooden deck is outdoor furniture and a gas barbecue.
Once settled, perhaps start by orienting yourself within the local area: this Catalonia site is on a hillside, overlooking the resort of L’Estartit. The beach is a mere 15 minutes’ walk away (or take the free shuttle in summer), and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars within a few minutes’ walk too. Anything you don’t find here you may find in the larger inland town of Torroella de Montgrí, five kilometres away.
This site is very well supplied with its own leisure facilities too: for starters it’s got three swimming pools, each with waterslides and sun terrace and a bar for those important cool drinks. Aqua gym classes run in summer, as do moonlight swim sessions, and there are kids’ pools too.
A lively entertainment programme for all ages runs on site all season long, and there’s also trampolines, crazy golf, tennis courts, volleyball, three playgrounds, a daily excursion programme…
And you’ll be similarly spoilt for choice with the options for food and drink: the site has a restaurant, a pizzeria, a supermarket, a bakery, three takeaways, three ice cream parlours and five bars to try out.

Llocs d'interès
Should you manage to get away from the site’s activities, there’s plenty to do nearby. Walk down to the beach for scuba diving and other watersports including paddleboarding, kitesurfing and kayaking, or take the kids to the rides of Parc JOCS (10 minutes’ walk away).
L’Estartit is also the place to sort glass-bottomed boat tours out to the islands of the Illes Medes Natural Park; to see more of the local scenery above ground head to Aiguamolls del Baix Empordà (five minutes’ drive) or take a wander around the medieval village of Pals (15 minutes).
For a bit more of the area’s history, visit the Catalonia Archaeology Museum in Ullastret (15 minutes) or step into the mind of one of its most famed artists with a trip to Castell Gala Salvador Dalí de Púbol (20 minutes). Figueres is about 35 minutes away if you’d like to continue on that arty journey, and Girona is 45 minutes away for day ambling around the walls, the cathedral and the Jewish Quarter.
