If you're having a holiday in excellent Andalucia, consider a stay in its heart, the comarca of Antequera in the Málaga province and bang in the centre of the region of Málaga, Granada, Córdoba, and Seville. The beaches of Málaga are 40 minutes' drive from here and the splendid cities of Granada, Córdoba, and Seville reachable within an hour.
Camping La Sierrecilla is in a place of spectacular scenery close to the Laguna de la Fuente de Piedra, a protected area home to the biggest colony of flamingos in the Iberian peninsula. This is a walkers' paradise with several trails easily accessible in the site surrounds… get set to explore.
The site has a restaurant (dishing up smashing views as well as tasty cuisine), a sauna available for a small fee and a well-equipped playground. There's also a huge pool, equipped with disabled facilities and of a big enough size not to get overcrowded even when the site is full. A kids' club and other activities run in the summer months.
For amenities, Camping La Sierrecilla has two modern toilet and shower blocks, both with laundry facilities.

The area around Camping La Sierrecilla is lush, with eagles and falcons soaring overhead and with lots of hiking and cycling trails all around.
Two nature reserves are in the region: the Laguna de la Fuente de Piedra, home of those flamingos, and the Torcal de Antequera, home of craggy and quite fab limestone formations; you'll want to take your camera.
And then there are the day trips… Get from La Sierrecilla to towns and villages like Alameda, Antequera, Casabermeja, Fuente de Piedra, Calvary, Mollina and Villanueva de la Concepción, and then to Granada, Seville and Córdoba, all only an hour away.
