Afegiu les dades de la vostra empresaSeaside stays don’t come much more seaside than this… Camping São Pedro de Moel looks out over the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, just over the road from Farol Penedo da Saudade lighthouse and mere minutes on foot from two gorgeous beaches (the long sandy Praia Velha and the pretty Praia de São Pedro de Moel).
And there’s more… true beach buffs should be able to fill many a day around this part of the Leiria province, with outings to Pedras Negras beach, Paredes da Victória beach and the famed surf waves of Nazaré all doable with a drive of 25 minutes or less, and a seaside cycle path running along the coast for pedalling off to the sands. Ask the folk on site if you fancy a bit of time fishing in the waves – they’ve got all the local info you need.
Not got your own wheels for outings? A bus stops about 900 metres from the park and will whisk you off to several choice spots. Food and other essentials are easily accessible too: it’s about a 10-minute walk to São Pedro de Moel for shops, restaurants, cafés, ice cream shops and beachside bars.
Facilities back at base have been kept low-key to preserve the peaceful coastal vibe and include well-kept bathroom facilities.

Llocs d'interès
So… beaches? Excellent idea. Once you’ve pottered about on the beach by the site, and the one by the village, set off north to Pedras Negras beach (five minutes’ drive) or head south to the sweeping sands of Paredes da Victória beach (10 minutes). Intrepid surfing types, grab your boards and scoot down to Nazaré (25 minutes), where the waves hit such heights they frequently host big wave competitions.
For a different way to take in the coast, wander along to the pretty Farol de São Pedro de Moel (10 minutes’ walk) or take a stroll or bike ride through the Pinhal de Leiria forest just behind the site. If you get as far as Marinha Grande, 10 kilometres away, drop in to the glass museum to see the colourful bits gathered there.
Want to break up the coastal antics with a bit of city time? Head up to Coimbra (an hour’s drive) or down to Lisbon (an hour and a half) – both are fine picks for history, culture and plenty of tasty food.
