As it's Sicily, you'll not be too far from a spectacularly golden beach. But hold onto your (sun) hats if beach days are your bag, as seaside site Villaggio Turistico Europeo comes with its own private beach for your sunbathing and swimming pleasure.
Loungers aplenty are on the sands here for plenty of lounging days, on a long stretch of Sicilian coast edged by the silhouette of mighty Mount Etna. If you yearn to get active, you can rent canoes, pedalos and windsurfing equipment, or plunge/potter into the water for an afternoon of swimming or paddling. (If you yearn for yet more adrenaline, jetski hire is near the site.)
Villaggio Turistico Europeo is near the ancient city of Catania, on the east coast of Sicily facing the Ionian Sea. It's in an area of long tradition and several vibrant cultures: this (but of course) means a splendid variety in local cuisine, of which you can partake thoroughly at the site restaurant serving Mediterranean and Sicilian dishes.
A brick-oven pizzeria is also on site for enthusiastic sampling of Italian cuisine, along with sipping drinks at the two bars and snaffling light bites from the snack kiosk. Or you could experiment with Sicilian gastronomy at your pitch (a mini market is on site and barbecues are allowed), or drive 20 minutes north to Catania to check out its fine restaurants.
Among the leisure facilities and activities are ping pong tables and a beach volleyball court (lit for night games), and a kids’ club, baby dance sessions, kids’ pool and a playground. Other entertainment includes gigs and discos for kids and adults, as well as daily football, table tennis, volleyball, beach tennis and bowls tournaments.

Llocs d'interès
The beach, Catania city and Mount Etna are the three main Sicilian destinations you must get to from here; after those, there's loads more to see within easy reach. A waterpark, bars and restaurants, laser show, cable car and dinosaur park are all a short drive away.
Spectacular Catania, within about 20 minutes' drive, has traces of all the cultures and empires that once ruled here, much of it in layers as the city has been buried by lava from erupting Mount Etna at least 17 times. Historical highlights include the Greek-Roman theatre, the Roman forum, Ursina castle, the Achillean Baths and several dozen church buildings including the famed baroque cathedral.
For a fiery Sicilian experience, book a hiking excursion up Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano. You'll need to be fairly fit for this, as tours last at least a few hours, but it's possible to hike the Etna summit under your own steam or book a driving tour for a half- or full-day trip.
