Feel like getting fancy on the French Riviera at a family-friendly site with tons of activities? Camping de l'Argentière, a fully kitted-out complex with a waterpark just 20 minutes’ drive from Saint-Tropez’s swanky bars, beaches and boat harbour, appeals to all ages.
Use this space as a base to explore plenty more seaside resorts in the Var department, too (Sainte-Maxime is 20 minutes away), if you can find the time between swimming in one of the many pools, dipping in and out of the Jacuzzis and keeping an eye on the kids whizzing down the waterslides.
The amenities and activities don’t stop there, either… There’s also a couple of tennis courts, ping-pong tables, a football field, a basketball court, a playground and kids’ clubs, plus various fitness classes from jazz dance to water polo. Barely ever seen the inside of a gym? You might feel more at home in the TV room or browsing the wifi in the relaxation area.
If you’ve managed to carve out some space in the schedule for explores, mountain bikes are for hire on site so you can easily set off on cycle rides around the region.
Back on base with an empty stomach, head for the terrace overlooking the waterpark – a top spot for snacking on a sandwich or ice cream. For extra choice, the shop sells a variety of goodies including pastries and the restaurant serves up more substantial eats.
After dinner in the summer months (July and August), settle in for some of the entertainment: think cabarets, live music concerts and magic shows.

Before sauntering off to see the sights of Saint-Tropez, Cogolin (five minutes’ drive) is worth a gander – this village at the bottom of the Massif des Maures mountains has historical architecture to admire on a wander.
Another cute commune to check out is Gassin, a hilltop settlement with views of the sea (15 minutes); set off for Sainte-Maxime too, a seaside resort sprinkled with posh shops and restaurants (20 minutes).
Once you finally reach Saint-Tropez (20 minutes), make your way to the Open Air Market and browse the artisan products or venture to the Vieux Port in the old fishing village and gawp at the multimillionaires’ yachts.
Time for the beach? Bound over to La Ponche and dip your toes in the blue waters or head outside town and over to the sands of Grimaud and La Croix-Valmer (both 15 minutes).
