Ooh la la, this peaceful place is simply spectacular. Or 'fantastic', 'relaxing' and 'amazing' according to a happy former guest: flick through the site pics and prepare to agree.
All flicked? Now inform the boss you'll be AWOL, because this is a site you'll want to see. Camping du Château Vert covers 40 quiet Oise department hectares just outside Hondainville, 22 kilometres from Beauvais, in a countryside setting surrounded by woods, next to a brook and with a patchwork of lakes on its grounds and around the area. And even more fably? Although you're deep in rural France here, you can reach Paris in an hour and 20 minutes by car, skirting past or driving through one of two nearby national parks.
The site's scenic lakes are laden with pike, perch and bream so you can land your supper a short stroll from your cosy bed, then fry it up on your unit's own barbecue. Have this with a generous splash of French wine as the sun sinks over the woods and water… also fably, all accommodation on the site has lake views.
To aid relaxation further (should you need to), the canny Château Vert owners have added a Nordic bath hot tub for guests' use, again with those splendid lake views. There's also a wifi connection at your disposal (on site, not in hot tub), along with a pétanque court and a playground if you and the kids feel like stirring from your wooden deck setting or hot tub waters.

This is def a site to stick around on for most of your hol, swimming and fishing in the lakes, wandering their surrounds, or just lazing around outside your handsome holiday home.
When you do venture off site, a top option for all ages is the nearby Hez-Froidmont forest, about five kilometres to the north. Covering 2,800 hectares, this spectacular wooded space has had humans wandering it since Celtic and Roman times, and is crossed by the GR 124 hiking trail on its 120-kilometre run from Cires-lès-Mello in the Oise and joins Ailly-sur-Noye in the Somme. The riding centre in La Neuville-en-Hez, just on the other side of the forest 10 kilometres from the site, can arrange hacks among the woodland for those who yearn to canter.
The Parcours Aventure treetop adventure course is about an hour's drive south west of the site, among the river cruises, walking trails and bike paths of the Vexin Français Natural Regional Park. Even more amusingly, have an animated day at Parc Astérix, 45 kilometres from your lake and woodland base.
