Villatent at Bi Village

It’s worth taking a wander around Fažana (five minutes’ drive/half an hour’s walk away) to check out the cute shops and houses here or dine at the seafront restaurants. It’s also the launching point for boat trips to the Brijuni National Park, a group of islands just offshore with a collection of attractions to see, including a safari park, a Mediterranean garden and a set of dinosaur footprints. There’s plenty of history to explore in Pula (15 minutes’ drive) too – the harbour town is home to a huge Roman arena, archways and temples, along with an archaeology museum to help you make sense of it all. There’s also an aquarium here if the kids get bored of bits from the past, and of course several beaches aren’t far away. If you’d rather stick to the beach by the site, you can still keep active: there’s an inflatable waterpark to conquer and a diving centre that can show you what lurks under the surface of the sea.
