Your adventurous side may very well rear its head once you touch down at Evergreen Farm in the Devon countryside. This large level-grounded site is in a rural patch opposite a forest, 10 minutes’ drive from the watersports haven at Roadford Lake and 35 minutes from Bude’s beaches and Dartmoor National Park. Fancy like some fresh produce to start off your day? Well, you won’t need to stray far, as there’s a farm shop on site selling free-range eggs and locally produced meats. This is the place to get your hands on a hot brew and a savoury or sweet treat, as there’s a selection of pies, pasties, sausage rolls, cakes and hot food available daily – plus local ice cream, cream teas and cups of tea and coffee. Once you’ve got all that energy in your veins, it may seem natural that the large forest opposite the site is next on your to-do list. Packed with wildlife and plenty of opportunities for kids (or adults) to let off steam, there are trails for walking and cycling and places to mash together a den. When you’re looking to stock up on your supplies, there are gas bottles available on site and local shops within four miles of the site. Holsworthy, Okehampton and Trethorne Leisure Park are all under 25 minutes’ drive away from the site, so you’ll be well within reach of leisure centres and golf courses too. And when you’ve got more food on the brain, there are several traditional country pubs serving food within 10 minutes’ drive of the site.

The shop onsite sells lots of great things-especially the bacon and eggs which we enjoyed for breakfast
Big and flat pitches
A big area where the kids can play and they enjoyed the football net
Owners are just amazing, so friendly and approachable and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We all had a great time

Em va agradar The owners, the advice on local events, the hot food, the pitch was flat. The toilet and shower facilities were good.

No em va agradar The location on pitch up, had to find by owners directions. Price of the laundry facilities. One of the locks on the toilet door was a bit tricky for little ones.

Em va agradar Lovely, quiet spot. Friendly owners. Fabulous beef burgers from the farm. Lovely woodland opposite.

No em va agradar Having to open the awkward gate everytime we went to the toilet/washing up/leaving the campsite. I struggle with a bad shoulder so this wasn't ideal for me.

Em va agradar So peaceful, quiet and not over populated. No light pollution. Very quiet at nighttime. Found it very calming place to stay. Off the beaten track with woodland walks right next door.

Em va agradar Lovely site. Great owners who couldn’t do enough for you. Checked in to make sure we were ok after a couple of days, nice greeting on arrival. Let us change to a grass pitch which was really welcomed. Cooked food on the weekend in the on site trailer. Shop on site, good facilities. Plans to upgrade in future.
Would recommend this place, great at night for star gazing, woodland walk across the road. Very good stay overall
They even had games on site for the kids, balls, badminton etc nice touch.

Em va agradar The owners are really nice! We asked to be pitched next to our friends which was accommodated. The toilets and showers where always clean and tidy even though site was busy. You can also see the shower/toilet block from all the pitches which was perfect for the older children that wanted to go on their own as I could still keep an eye on them. Typically one of the children wet the bed on the first night but there was a washing machine and dryer onsite which was a life saver! There was a football goal and badminton net in the middle of the field where all the children there played.
Would definitely visit again, Thank you!

Em va agradar Loved the site its self.
The children had lots of fun with the footballs and net.
Handy little shop selling basic food and drink and then the takeaway selling hot food was great.
Toilet and shower facilities were clean and never run out of toilet roll!
Lovely forest for exploring.

No em va agradar Not a dislike as such but the washing up facilities are outside luckily we had the weather on our side but maybe something to look to in the future.

So, you’ve got a thing for the outdoors… if so, Roadford Lake (10 minutes’ drive) should make it onto your activities list, as there’s walking and cycling on the shores, and out on the lake you can try watersports from kayaking and canoeing to craft-making (fingers crossed it doesn’t sink). Of course, Dartmoor National Park (35 minutes) is all about being in wide open spaces. Naturally, that may mean getting a bit mucky… horse riding, cycling, climbing and canoeing are all on the go here. Those of you specifically wanting to barrel around on bikes will want to set off to Sourton (20 minutes) to get onto the Granite Way cycling trail (there’s bike hire, too, for those of you without your own). After all that activity, perhaps you’ll want to round off the day with a cream tea in the ancient stannary town of Tavistock (35 minutes). The sugar rush might revive your senses – and that’s OK too, as you’ll have all the more energy for the historic Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre (15 minutes), the large Ashbury Hotel Golf Courses (20 minutes) or Bude’s beaches (35 minutes).
