Liked: Excellent top quality location. Brilliant facilities and that essential attention to detail. Bar overlooking the pool was tranquil, great barman, with a basic lunchtime menu, and pizza restaurant in the evening. Very well stocked shop at the right prices. Bus stop to Florence is 50 yds from the gate. You do need to study Google maps and do your homework for the return journey, with 2 busses available, both from the central railway station. We visited out of was of season but it still shone as a well managed and professional site.

Disliked: We suffered horrible out of season weather. It is an absolute credit to their team that the facilities remained pristine. I can't stand dirty tiled floors! Wi-Fi was a little 'intermittent' in bad weather.

Liked: Wir konnten uns den Stellplatz aussuchen. Sicher weil sehr wenige Gäste da waren. Alle Mitarbeiter des Platzes waren ausnehmend freundlich. Die Pizzeria hatte sehr gutes Essen.

Liked: The environment is excellent here! Great restaurant! We used the take away service and the food was delicious. The bar is great and the market for bread and croissants on the mornings was perfect. Very friendly staff who take you you to your pitch on their golf buggy! The bus service for a day out in Florence was brilliant. The WC and showers are modern and very clean.

Disliked: Low water pressure on the pitch side taps.

Liked: Sehr netter Empfang. Das gesamte Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist ruhig und zum entspannen perfekt. Ein kleiner Markt, in dem alles nötige verkauft wird stand uns zur Verfügung. Pool und Sanitäranlagen sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber sauber.

Disliked: Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis im Restaurant passt nicht sehr gut.

Local attractions

Get out into the countryside by pedal or foot, explore the Chianti vineyards or make it a mission to get to all the nearby Florence cities from Camping Village Il Poggetto: again, doing the whole heap is an excellent option... One could of course spend days/weeks among the likes of these Tuscany cities, but among the Poggetto team's top picks are: for Florence, a wander along the Arno river and around the Uffizi Gallery followed by a tagliata steak; for Pisa, the famed tower (but of course) and the medieval marble cathedral, and for Lucca, the medieval city walls and the Italian and international nightly acts of the Lucca Summer Festival. Also recommended is Siena, just south of the site, for its twice-yearly Palio di Siena horse race, and nearby San Gimignano, with its 14 medieval towers each over 45 metres high.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m..
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Hired accommodation

Your unit must be left clean and tidy; a fine of €40.00 (£35.78) will be charged for unclean units upon departure.

Pool

Some facilities require the wearing of swim caps.
Swimsuits are obligatory and swimming shorts or Bermuda shorts are not permitted.
The outdoor swimming pool is open between 01/05 and 30/09 (subject to weather conditions).

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

Vehicles

No vehicle movement between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m..
Only one car is to be parked by the pitch. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.
The car is only included in the rate if you are travelling with a touring caravan or a tent. If you wish to bring a car along with your motorhome/campervan please select the extra.

Visitors

Visitors’ cars are not permitted on site.
Visitors must register at reception and pay their fee.

Additional terms

End-of-stay cleaning service is compulsory for the accommodation units when travelling with a dog, please include the supplement in your booking or you will be charged on arrival.
