  • Scenic glamping on a North Somerset farm site two miles from the coast
  • A 15-minute from Clevedon Marine Lake; 35 minutes from Cheddar Gorge
  • Barbecues and firepits allowed; fishing lakes, cycles and walks nearby
Recharge your batteries at Swallow Farm Glamping, a scenic glamping site two miles from the North Somerset coast. The energy here comes in the form of fresh air, birdsong and starry skies at night – so you may have quite the peaceful time in store with the pleasures of crabbing, watersports and a classic Victorian pier just 15 minutes’ drive away in Clevedon. Whether it’s friends or family you’re planning on bringing along, there are many ways to get together. Perhaps you’ll want to rustle up some of the local produce around the firepit or barbecue? Snuggle around the twinkly outdoor lights on site? Jump in the car and alight in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (35 minutes’ drive) for some scenic hikes or horse rides? You may choose to stay local instead and stretch your legs around one of the village footpaths or lanes to the coast. There are three local fishing lakes close by in Kingston Seymour – and in Clevedon you can try out paddleboarding on the seawater infinity pool. There are marvellous things to munch on around here too, perhaps in the village restaurant and grill (five minutes’ drive away and on weekends only), or the strawberries, cheese and cider that surely must accompany a cycle along the Strawberry Line to Cheddar. However far you may go, you’ll get to rest up back on site. The working family-run farm also has handy facilities including a shower and toilet block, plus a washing-up area.

Swallow bell tent

Liked: We had a great time on the Farm and the kids really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Having only 2 Yurts, means it is really relaxing environment - in fact we were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves. The kids loved spending time learning about the animals with the host Jane, the beds were very comfortable and warm, and the bathroom facilities very clean and functional. Cycling down to the local Milk Shed for fresh milk was great.

Disliked: Not a dislike for the site at all - just some advice to fellow campers - you've got to be really conscious of the local tide timetables if one of your primary reasons for the location is to head to the beach during your stay.

Swallow bell tent

Liked: Lovely rural location which was perfect for our family with two small children. The beds were super comfy, clean and warm and Jane, the host, was friendly and helpful! We loved cooking on the open fire too. Fresh eggs and milk in the fridge which was a lovely touch. I would definitely return here!

Disliked: The only tiny thing I would say it needed were some comfy chairs to sit around the fire (the other tent did have some) and maybe a few more cooking utensils for the bbq. I could have easily brought those myself though!

Swallow bell tent

Liked: Jane was a great host. The kitchen space and toilet/shower room were great. The fairy lights lovely. Tent was cosy. Fire pit cooking great. Wagon to take belongings to and from tent really helped. We had the space to ourselves so might have been different vibe if shared. Milk stand down the road excellent. We loved it and would visit again.

Disliked: Tent on the smaller side for us personally, not really a dislike just our preference.

Swallow bell tent

Liked: The tent was nice and clean and the bedding was lush. The outside area of the tent with the fire pit was cute. The facilities that were provided were clean and lots of useful things were provided. Eg: single hob, kettle, saucepan, teabags, washing up bits. You can’t park your car by the tent but a trolley is provided to carry your things from the car to your tent. The host was extremely accommodating and helpful.

Disliked: The tent was maybe a little on the small side, but fine for a couple of nights. Although the facilities provided were lovely, they are a fair distance away from the tents. However, for a couple of nights it wasn’t too much of an issue.

Swallow bell tent

Liked: Peaceful glamping farm. Only two tents so it's nice and quite. Bathroom and washing up area kept clean and tidy. Host is friendly and made sure we were looked after. A lovely fire pit is by the tent and logs are provided. We would have liked to have an outdoor table by the tent too. Glamping tent is not very spacious inside, but beds are comfy with very warm duvets and blankets. The village is very cute and the nearby Mendip Hills are very green and beautiful.
